"Nick and his crew at Fence Dr. absolutely nailed it!! I’m a pretty handy guy but I don’t do fences and the job was large, so I was apprehensive to say the least. Nick was able to give me some great ideas as well as pointed out somethings I wanted that just weren’t feasible and in the end, made my vision a reality. The price was very reasonable considering the cost of lumber, and the craftsmanship was outstanding and well worth it. Polite and professional the crew showed up on time, completed the job within the timeframe we specified and they cleaned up the job site when they finished. I absolutely love my new fence and I will definitely be recommending Fence Dr to anyone who has the need!"

"Montes Fence Works replaced all of the posts in a fence that was leaning, cementing and sinking each post 32 inches. They were reasonably priced and professional in every way. I would not hesitate to hire them again."

"We got the estimate in November, 2014 through Home Depot's install services. They would not schedule an appt for after hours or weekends, so I had to take time off work to meet the sales rep and get the estimate. We had 11 ft of space between our old fence and the sidewalk on our side yard and we wanted to expand our backyard area. I asked the sales rep what code was for placement back from the sidewalk. He did not know (which I found interesting for a fencing contractor). I told him at that time we wanted to be within code or very close so it did not cause issues later. Again, he did not know. He spent more time discussing how great Borg Fence was and all the Home Depot business they were getting and not spending enough discussing our fence. He provided a quote which was slightly higher than other quotes we received, but the sales rep from Borg said he could get us 12 month same as cash financing with Home Depot. We decided to wait until after the holidays at which time I contacted the City of Roseville myself to confirm set back (5') and height limits (7') for our area. Once I obtained that information I emailed it to the sales rep and asked if we could schedule the job. At the same time, I had let him know we had received a coupon from Home Depot for a 24 months same as cash deal for services and asked if we could use that coupon. He thought we could and for me to email it to him (which I did) and we scheduled the date. <br /> The crew arrived as scheduled, but when they started laying out the holes for the posts, they were laying them 4' from the sidewalk instead of the required 5'. They had already dug two when my husband stopped them and pointed out that it was too close to the sidewalk. They said that was what the sales rep drew on the drawing. My husband had difficulty discussing with them where the posts should go as none of them spoke very good English and they had to resort to pointing to the dimensions on a drawing from the company.  So he called the Production Manager (who was out that day) and left a message for his backup, then he called the sales rep, but had to leave a message there as well. The Sales Rep called back and spoke to my husband  and during their discussion (in which the Sales Rep took an uncalled for hostile tone) the Sales Rep stated that we never discussed a setback from the fence, that he was never told of the requirements, and that they never go by code, only the wishes of the customer. He did call the crew and had them move the holes to 5' as requested, but only after much agruement and the threat of them charging more. <br /> Then they started removing the old fence and we noticed they were sawing off the posts at the ground and buring them instead of removing them completely. We again called the rep to discuss why the posts were not being removed, since the quote stated it included "tear down and haul away of old fence". We made a point that a reasonable person would understand that removal of all of the old fence would include the concrete and entire posts. His response was "we never do that, we just bury them". That if we wanted them removed it would be an additional $50 per post (we had approx 14 posts) and he said it would another day to the job. My husband had taken a vacation day off to be there for the job. He could not take another day without prior notice. Even though we argued with the rep, he was not budging on his stance and since several posts were already now in place, we had them complete it . The fence was completed and looks great. The crew cleaned up everything and finished in 1/2 a day. <br /> I would like to point out that the crew were courteous and respectful, even after having to move the two posts and all of the drilled holes. The biggest issue we have is we want need to have additional work performed (landscaping the new back yard area behind the new fence) in the yard, but will now have to remove the posts that remain for some of the new plants to be planted. Then, to top it off, once the charge was processed through Home Depot it was only setup as 12 months same as cash, not the 24 months with the coupon I had provided. This was resolved by me calling Home Depot credit and having them apply the 24 month coupon. One more thing the rep did not listen to me on. With our experience with the Sales Rep being what it was (disrespectful) we would not currently recommend Borg Fencing to anyone for fence work in our area. <br />"

"10/10. I spoke with a ton of contractors and they were by far the best. On time, efficient and professional, Bernardo Jr. and Bernardo did an absolutely fantastic job. They were able to copy the same style as the fence, and made it look flawless. Would recommend them to anyone looking at hiring someone for fencing."

"Mr Lopez did a walkthrough and pointed out the loose fence posts and said they needed to be replaced. Gave us price options for 4x4 and 4x6 replacement posts. We went with the 4x6 since we felt they would be able to support the fence portions that were not replaced, and the 4x6 looks fine. When they took out the old fence posts (many of which were put in 3-4 years ago by another company) we could see that some were rotted through, and some of the 7' posts were sunk only 6" into the ground. So we are very glad we replaced them. In all they replaced 21 posts plus the 12' section of fence. The replaced fence and gate look great. Mr. Lopez' crew could replace most posts without going into the neighbors' yards, which was convenient. It took 2-3 days to repair all the fences , and the gate was installed later. He and his crew were polite and professional. There was a minor issue with the gate being too narrow (measuring issue), but they put in a shim to correct for that. It still looks great. We definitely recommend Lopez Fencing."

"A&J marked the posts they identified as requiring support and performed as scheduled. Unfortunately, the fence was still leaning heavily in many spots because they did not identify/repair enough posts (notice in the photo only the two sister-ed posts at far right, but remainder of fence still leaning). They acknowledged this, but couldn't schedule a follow up for several months. We ended up hiring a second contractor to finish the job right."

"Good communication. Estimator explained costs and options very clearly and answered questions. Returned calls when I had additional questions. Office called to remind me one week and two days before job started. Good, quality work: Bottom of fence needs short retaining wall because the ground on one side is higher than the other side. Construction crew lengthened it from original estimate because they believed it would be a better quality fence, at no additional cost No short cuts: Fence is on a very gentle slope. Crew made sure top of fence is level and stepped down a few inches about every 20 feet. The old fence did not have the retaining wall and the top was a slope following the terrain. Very long wait list: I had to wait for three months from estimate to construction. Other companies' were shorter, ranging from 3 weeks to two months."

"I  would definitely give them a shot at any other fence bid.  And seriously recommend they be given the job, if you find the bid reasonable. <br /> They came in as low-bidder for fences on a rental property I was going to sell.  Low bid was the determining factor.  However, they co-operated with me so well  to do the job correctly, I made sure to include them as a bidder on our home fences in another city.  <br /> Again, I was impressed.  Not only because of being the lowest bidder, but because they set the posts correctly.  During inspection, the only faults were oversights they readily agreed to correct:  a gate spring on  one gate, and a gate curb on another gate they had overlooked.  The hardware they installed was substantial.  Both my neighbors were equally impressed by their work.  The job took 2 days.  They were on time, pleasant, and professional.  Unlike other contractors I have used, they did not have to be reminded to clean up after themselves.  They flagged things, e.g., sprinkler heads to avoid, and took care to minimize damage to plants. <br /> <strong>FYI</strong> - Fence posts should not come in direct contact with soil.  A layer of mixed/wet concrete should be placed in the post holes before the posts.  Next, it is best to pour, or shovel, concrete around the post, work it with a stick to get the air out, and finally, dome the top of the concrete to force water to run away from the wood.  Unlike the others, this company was aware of the need to dome the concrete and agreed to wet pour the concrete into the holes, and around the posts.  KUDOS!!! <br /> <strong>Suggestion:  </strong>Ask contractors what their procedure is for installing the fence posts.  <br /> <strong>BAD:</strong>  Most will tell you they put the post in the ground, toss 1 or 2 unbroken bags of concrete in the hole, then water them.  If you question them, they will tell you they've been doing it this way for XX years.  (Doing it wrong for XX years!)  This process will allow earth and various pest organisms to come in direct contact with the wood.   It is natural for the concrete to cup around the fence post and hold water their way.  Doming helps prevent unnecessary water and earth contact.  Doing it their way will shorten the amount of effort they will have to expend and shorten the life expectancy of your fence.  Profits up, quality down!  Hope these comments help you to be an informed consumer. <br />"
