After some frantic phone calls to roofing companies, Roofx responded right away and even sent someone out on a Saturday to look at my roof. It took about two weeks to schedule them to come out to replace my roof, due to financing and having to wait for a break in the weather. "It went fine, however, I was told the job would take roughly 8 hours for 1 person. It ended up being 15 hours, partly with a second handyman. So it was twice as much as we were expecting, and the price is already pretty high. Also, the second handyman brought an extra piece of siding that was not needed. We had already purchased a piece and had it painted, ready to install. So that was an unnecessary added expense. But I guess it's ok as we'll probably need it at some point in the future. What was really weird is that the same mistake happened when we had a piece of siding replaced a few years ago! Overall, they did a good job though, despite the cold weather."

Tony and his crew painted the exterior of a home I own in the Midtown Historic District in Harrisburg.  At the beginning of the project, they discovered rotted window frames and notified me quickly.  After I had the damage corrected, they went on to paint the siding and all the wood trim on this 1880's home.

I was very happy with the result.  The painting they did was absolutely perfect!  It looks fabulous, and several neighbors have complimented the job and asked for the contractor's info.

Tony was very communicative and was a pleasure to deal with.

"Mr. Ferree arrived on schedule, had the necessary parts, saw immediately what needed to be done, completed the job in a workmanlike manner, and showed me how to use the new "sharkbite" fittings he installed--they are different than those in the rest of my house. I would not hesitate to call him again for plumbing repairs.
The only negative involved communication in advance. Apparently he was ill for a few weeks, but I was unable to get a reply for some time after I purchased the special offer. In future I will expect better communication.

"We purchased an 1880's era row home in downtown Lancaster. It had been rental property for many years and needed a lot of restoration. We'd had Lancaster Contracting do the roof last year, and asked for a quote on restoring the second floor porch this year. The porch itself had seen years and years of neglect. It was literally rotting off the side of the building!
They came and gave us a very reasonable quote (we'd had 2 other competing quotes done that just seemed like triage, instead of restoration). We accepted their quote and they went to work. They literally stripped the entire structure down to the original hand-hewed oak timbers  -- the skeleton of the structure, which was still in good shape -- and rebuilt the porch from the beams up. 
The project was a complete success, and we're thrilled with our porch!
The team from Lancaster Contracting was great  - professional, friendly, responsive, considerate, and their work was wonderful. They had to remove the entire original porch - which runs across the back and down the side of our house - and replace the floor and underside of the porch, the porch ceiling, the supports, the railings, the screens, the door, the ceiling fixtures, ornamentation, everything - and we couldn't be happier with the results. Their attention to detail was amazing, and their prices are fair. They were flexible with changes that came up during the project, and were very responsive to questions throughout the process. We felt sad when the project was completed, because they felt like family! Of course, with this being a 130+ year old home, we'll be having them back for more projects.
