"Marquis Tree Service was great from start to finish on this big job. John Marquis came out to scope the work, calculated the price on the spot, and tagged the trees that needed to be removed. A few trees were within the wetland buffer zone, so John wrote an excellent, detailed letter to our Conservation Commission to get approval for the removal. I had to be out of town the day they were scheduled to take down the 13 tall pines near our house, and I was worried about not being there to deal with issues, but John assured me all would be well. He called me that morning before they started the job, called me during the job to discuss taking down one more tree that hadn't been tagged initially, and confirmed when the work was done. I expected some damage to the lawn or driveway, but when I got home the only evidence that the crews had been there was the missing trees. I've used two other tree services over the past 20 years, and Marquis wins. They have the right equipment for the biggest jobs, the office staff is responsive, the crews work carefully and efficiently, the owner knows his stuff (he holds degrees in forestry and is a certified arborist), and (surprisingly) their price was competitive. I'd trust them with the biggest/trickiest jobs."

"Two days ago during a storm, a huge pine tree fell on our shed and blocked our driveway. i called New England Tree Masters right away because I had used their service before and were very happy with them. Once again, they didn't disappoint me. They offered the most reasonable price, almost 1/3 of what the other tree service had offered me. They also did a terrific job removing the tree. They arrived on time, cleaned everything. Throughout the process, they were professional, respectful and friendly. They even trimmed one tree that was also damaged during a storm for free. After meeting with several companies I felt that Gate City was the most professional and trustworthy. The trees that were removed were elevated from the street and far from the road. They were able to use a crane to remove the trees at the back of the property. The job was fairly priced and they did a great job. "Stephen was wonderful to work with from start to finish. He was prompt, responsive, and did an excellent job. We had had two estimates for the job, and although the price quoted was the same from both companies, Stephen distinguished himself by explaining that he would leave the area very tidy, whereas the other company had specified that the estimate did not include removal of the leaves, Stephen started the work at an unusually early hour, to accommodate our schedules that day. The area was difficult to access and severely sloped, and I'm not sure of how he accomplished all that he did, but when we returned home the area was transformed. He had removed all the debris, tree limbs, branches, leaves, soda cans, etc, which had been accumulating for sometime, raked the area and left it entirely clear and clean. He even suggested some plants that might thrive there. What had been in essence a junk yard, seemed to have become a potential conservation area! We were extremely pleased with the work, and would use Stephen again for other projects."
