However, we did not hear the sump pump operate under the floor when first installed. When the Harts crew changed the location of the pump discharge line, we can now hear the pump very distinctly when it operates, under the floor. I am requesting that Harts come back and listen to see if it is normal for the sump pump to make this much noise."

They also installed PU foam around the perimeter foundation walls to complete the insulation envelope of the house and a dehumidifier top keep the crawlspace area dry. In short, this work solved the problem we had and provided the added benefits of a more energy efficient and comfortable house due to the insulation as well as better indoor air quality. "Vlad was very prompt, respectful, yet personable and more than sincere in his motivation to assist with my plumbing problem. After replacing the pipes, the sink was still backing up, so he ran a snake through it a handful of times, but to no avail. He had come to the conclusion that it may be backed up much further down, and that was out of his scope of work, and with regret, he recommended other companies that would be able to assist. "During a morning shower, I noticed the water suddenly stopped draining.  I tested the toilet and realized there was an obvious blockage between the toilet and the septic tank.
I called The Plumbing Joint and they promptly dispatched Joe Z. who assessed the situation and began trying to snake the drain lines while his apprentice, Tyler, began to dig to locate the septic tank.  They both worked tirelessly well into the early evening. Joe discovered that the previous owners had wrapped the 3" copper drain pipe with ELECTRICAL TAPE (??) and that there was a nice little sewer pond in the low spot of my crawlspace.  He got the system operating, then returned early the next morning to replace a degraded copper fitting inside the bathroom wall with ABS.  After doing a great job cleaning up, Joe provided me with the final bill and recommendations for two water/sewer restoration companies to bid on the crawlspace clean-up.
