"They do both commercial and residential carpeting and flooring.  They were excellent and I loved everything about them.  They were very professional and very punctual.  They moved my furniture and the service receipt for this was minimal.  They set it back up after they are done exactly the way I wanted them to.  The staff was excellent and pretty efficient.  I would use them again in the future."

"CRT assisted in the decisions about flooring in our new home construction. The design representative went above expectations by drawing out our design plans for the tile in all areas of our home and explaining the many different carpet options as well. Erin was extremely knowledgeable about the products the company sells and about installation of the products. Erin was courteous and always answered all of my questions quickly. Erin was not up-selling me on products and truly listened to my design needs and my budget requirements. CRT has all levels of pricing and was below costs of what we found at local big box and home improvement stores."

"The folks they hire for installation did a great job. The organization and planning went terribly. The work order I signed had a Friday as both the start date, and estimated completion date, for all 3 flooring jobs. When that Friday rolled around, the crew that came to take care of the laminate and LVT came to tell me they weren't given a diagram, and they concluded they didn't have enough supplies to do the LVT job. I talked to their manager about rescheduling that service, and came to find out the carpet job wasn't scheduled to start until Saturday. The sales rep, and clearly the work order, had my carpet installation scheduled to start Friday. I ended up sticking with that schedule and not cancelling since I received a discount (another saving grace), but then of course the carpet installers didn't show up early enough to finish their work, so they had to come back on Sunday. I also had to call Empire since the LVT installer never showed and I come to find out there was an emergency and they had to reschedule the LVT installation for Monday. So a project I was initially told would all be done on Friday lasted until Monday."

"It went great. McKelvey had done the original remodel of our master bath and build-ins in our study. Along came Harvey and we used them to do the rebuild of our downstairs after Harvey."

"They met with me as scheduled, brought samples for me to choose from and completed the installation on a very tight time frame. The only reason I gave the quality a B rating is because I chose a lesser quality product as this was for a rental property. He did offer me a higher quality product but I declined. They cleaned up the area after installation, were friendly and professional. Emailed the invoice to me to be paid online, very convenient. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Eagle Lake, TX

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
