"From start to finish, the process was very smooth and professional. Everyone we had contact with was amazing: Diane, Greg, Chris, and Doug. Diane was the salesperson and she was amazing - VERY prompt, professional and responsive. She was able to get us the detailed specs on the carpet we were looking for and also answered my many questions without hesitation. The installation crew was also amazing. Greg, the installation manager, was willing to work with me and answer any questions I had. The installers, Chris and Doug, were top notch. Very nice and professional. They took their time and paid great attention to detail - making sure things were done right. The job turned out gorgeous! Thanks, Classic Carpet!"

"We were very pleased with the service, both at the store as we selected the tiles, and with the installation. A subcontractor did the install, but the individual who estimated and the installers who did the work were very professional and easy to have around the house. The floor is beautiful, and the work they put into the whole process really shows. We did have a miscommunication at the outset when the installation crew didn't know that we wanted the old vinyl floor and subfloor removed, but that was resolved with a minor adjustment in cost, and the crew worked the extra day of labor into their schedule and finished on time. The installers also seem to have done a very nice job of taking care of some ugly squeaks and non-level places in the floor. The price was very fair for the work and the product, but I wouldn't call it a bargain. <br />"

"We had them come to our house and measure the areas that we wanted to install new carpet. I thought I would hear back from them in a couple of days but did not. When I called to follow up she said she had been leaving messages at a wrong phone number. So, it didn't get off to a great start. We decided to go ahead and purchase the carpet and picked our installation date. The installer arrived on time and did a good job. We plan on using them again in the Spring when we have additional carpet installed."

"We had 3 bids that we thought were costly. called the carpet network and kanden was our salesman. He came out to Waterloo Illinois because we just inherited a house out here. He showed us a great carpet and padding and gave us an unbeatable price!! He was very professional and friendly. There was some pet damage so he recommended to seal the floor with kilz. Ron and Tom did great on the installation they were kind and did outstanding work! Highly recommend. Went above and beyond to make sure we were very happy with the whole process. A++ if your looking for great work, great people and unbeatable prices this is the company to go with!!!!"

"<p><br /></p> The flooring in my entire house was redone beautifully and with complete satisfaction. The initial process of selecting materials was an easy task, as the staff at the store was extremely helpul . They answered all questions, showed me all the possibilities, and allowed me to take home any samples that I needed to make final selections. The bulk of the work was performed by Jim Clark, the company's owner. He was responsible for the refinishing of the wood flooring. He was probably the best and hardest worker with whom I have dealt over the last ten years. He was very well organized and efficient, and his attention to detail was outstanding. The result of his efforts exceeded all expectations. Visitors to my home have commented on the beautiful work that was done. I would highly recommend Clark Flooring for any flooring needs. The entire experience exceeded all expectations and deserves an A+ rating. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in East Alton, IL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
