"great, from the first visit from Bruce to evaluate my radon problem, giving me suggestions & an estimate, everything went smoothly. They did the work today 8/9. I had other companies give me a quote & they did not compare with Radon Technology. Very professional & courteous. I would highly recommend them"

"Excellent, very satisfactory. Radon Brothers' rep came, saw the problem, and replaced the leaking radon exhaust PVC pipe in my basement floor. All in record time. Am very satisfied and will continue using Angi contractors."

"<strong>Scheduling Appointment:</strong> <br /> With the two home inspectors who I used in the past not being available, I came across Real Estate Inspection after spending some quality time with Google. I first spoke to the company president, Woody Watkins. Since I wanted to make sure I hired a good home inspector, I drilled Woody with questions and he was extremely patient and thorough in answering all my questions. He quoted me with a significantly lower price than four other quotes that I got, including the two inspectors who I used in the past. Woody helped alleviate my concerns that the low price would be reflected in the quality of work. <br /> <strong>Inspection Day:</strong> <br /> When my wife and I arrived at the home we were purchasing, the inspector assigned to my appointment, Pete Ciliberto, was already there and had already completed inspecting the roof. He caught us up to speed on what he had found and invited us to follow him around for the remainder of the exterior inspection. Despite the rain, he took his time to check every little thing. <br /> Once inside, he set up his electronic radon detection tool and explained how it worked. He spent over an hour inspecting the basement alone, explaining that he spends a lot of time in the basement since many problems can start in the foundation of the home. He used two really cool tools, an electronic gas detector and a thermal imaging tool, to check for gas and water leaks. His gas detector pinpointed the exact location of a significant gas leak within minutes. He even let us have some fun with the thermal imaging tool when my wife and I were curious what our face prints would look like on the wall. Throughout the <br /> remainder of the inspection, he took his time to inspect everything, took a lot of pictures, and provided us with a lot of helpful information. <br /> <strong>Report:</strong> <br /> I'm not sure what's more impressive… the fact that we got our report less than 24 hours after our inspection, or the quality of the report itself. The first part had a section that detailed what items required immediate action, along with another section with recommended action items. Pictures were provided throughout the document, along with explanations of the issues, how the issues should be fixed, and estimated cost of repair. <br /> <strong>Five Stars:</strong> <br /> Woody, Pete, and their new coordinator Andy, were also all quick to respond to my emails and phone calls. All three were very professional. Their service also included an environmental report and an appliance recall report. We used them for our radon, termite, and home inspection, as well as our re-inspection. <br /> Out of the three inspectors I have used, Real Estate Inspections is, by far, the best one. I have already passed on their information to two other friends searching for homes. They will be the only company I recommend to family and friends going forward. <br />"

"Contacting and scheduling an appointment with Larry & BPG was a breeze. They were able to set up an appointment and tell us what we might be able to expect in terms of associated costs & payment options and timing for the inspections over the phone when we called. Larry's partner set up the radon test a few days in advance of the inspection so that it would be ready to collect when we did the inspections. On the day of the inspections Larry was right on time. He started his inspections outside and worked his way inside the house. He allowed us to tag along while he conducted his inspections and we learned a few things in the process, which was great! He took many photos throughout the inspections that he utilized in his very well organized and detailed reports (even our real estate lawyer was impressed with his reports!). We received our reports less than 24 hours after the inspections were complete. Overall, it was great experience, and we would recommend Larry and BPG to anyone looking for various home inspections. Larry & BPG are almost a one stop shop providing numerous types of tests and inspections, which is a great time saver for all involved. <br />"

"The home we are purchasing is in another state, we were not able to be there for the inspection. Our inspector was Vincent, we were sent a VERY detailed report with pictures the next day. The inspection included Radon testing and wood destroying insect inspection since we'll be moving to PA. We are very pleased on the timeliness and the recommendations given in the report. We would definitely recommend this company!!!!"

"<p>it was superb! they easiest, hassle free Radon test in town, with extremely proficient people -- very knowledgeable and very people-friendly! they took their time to explain things on the phone to me before I committed. the test came back within 10 days or so -- via email. which is very convenient. it was very clear as it is, but I like talking through it and get advice. they were instantly available to discuss. they gave me future tips to keep on top of all things Radon related. </p> <p>I have to say that all this comes to be after 3 months of many back and forths with 3 other companies -- none of the other companies could be bothered to schedule a time, and those who did, never showed up.. many times over. I don't know why I was so patient with them and I wish had discovered Environmental Testing & Research Laboratories much sooner.</p> <p>Really highly recommend them!</p> <br />"

"This was the second time that we've used Keystone Inspection service and we are continually pleased with their work, thoroughness, knowledge, and responsiveness. We had our inspection on Saturday and had the final completed report uploaded already on Monday. We opted for full home inspection, radon, and pest and I feel as though the cost was fair. I will definitely use them in the future and will recommend them highly to anyone that asks. Thank you!"

"As a high volume realtor, I have vendors approach me all the time offering their services wanting to work with me. That wasn’t the case with Ed and his team. I had actually heard about them from other agents I trusted. We decided to give Ed a chance. Since we specialize in foreclosures, these homes are a challenge for Ed and his team. Its been over 2 years and probably over 50 homes later, and Ed is still our go to guy. He has actually called us to ask if he can train other home inspectors on our houses. Last year we won worst house ever for a 3600sqft house in Far Hills with severe water damage. So when it came time for me to hire a home inspector for a house I was buying, of course I called Ed. Ed is knowledgeable about construction codes and can speak to you in a language you understand about small problems in a home that other people might think are huge issues. I also had him to a walk through of my current home to make sure it is ready for the buyers home inspector. With the paperless disclosures and billing, its easy to send Ed an email, take care of everything, and he sends me the report with a simple write up of what are the major issues of a home. Our clients are always happy with the timeliness and thoroughness of Ed and his team at Heartland Home Inspections. Being a local family owned and operated company, his wife handles the radon tests, its comforting to know you are buying a home that is not going to have major issues down the line. I highly recommend Heartland Home Inspections and will continue to use them."

FAQs for radon gas abatement projects in East Stroudsburg, PA

The only way to know whether your home or water supply contains radon is to schedule a professional test. A qualified radon inspector will collect samples, deliver lab-verified results, and explain the findings for $150 to $800. Once you know your exact levels, you and your radon mitigation pro can choose the right system and tackle the problem before it affects your family’s health.

Both roles tackle radon, but they focus on different steps. Inspectors test your home, interpret the results, and determine whether levels exceed EPA guidelines. Mitigation pros design and install the system that lowers those levels. Some companies do both, but the skills and equipment differ, so always verify that the person you hire is properly certified for the specific service you need.

Installing a mitigation unit fixes radon problems by reducing indoor gas levels to established safe standards. A system designed and installed by a mitigation expert, tailored to your home's specific layout and foundation, guarantees effective radon reduction. This expert installation ensures consistent performance over time while safeguarding your indoor air quality.

Open windows and doors do not reduce radon levels because they trigger a pressure imbalance that draws radon-laden air into your home. This practice fails to control radon concentration and can even worsen the issue. An active suction mitigation system provides a proven, safe, and effective solution to reliably reduce radon levels.

Radon mitigation systems generally last between 10 and 30 years, depending on system type and maintenance. Passive systems endure the longest because they have no moving parts, whereas active systems, which use a fan, require fan replacement every 5 to 10 years. System components, such as PVC pipes, seals, and fittings, can remain effective for decades when paired with periodic inspections and proper maintenance.

Radon mitigation systems consume between 300 and 3,000 kWh of electricity per year, depending on fan size and system design. On average, an active radon fan draws 100 to 300 watts continuously, which translates to roughly 876 kWh annually, and adds $30 to $300 to your energy bill each year. Choosing a high-efficiency fan and ensuring tight sealing around pipes helps minimize these ongoing costs.
