After that he came & went after about half to three quarters of an hour for the next three days, so instead of a 3 1/2 days it ended up being 4 1/2 day job. The barn door install was not fully secured on the right top side mounting board. I had to resecure the board, the lag screw hole was stripped. He seems like a nice enough guy, just won't be using again."

"I found Gene Lakin on Angie's List and he replied to my inquiry about a price quote on the same day. When he came to our home to do the estimate, it turned out that my father in law was Gene's football coach in elementary and middle school! Upon doing the assessment of the damage, we determined that we had a and quot;double ceilingand quot; in our bedroom -- meaning that the original construction had a plaster ceiling which had drywall hung over it. Gene expressed concern about repairing the drywall without having the area tested for mold since there was probably standing water in between the two ceilings. He advocated for mold remediation with our insurance company and they agreed. He truly went to bat for us! He attended the initial inspection with the mold company as well, removed a small piece of the drywalled ceiling and, in fact, there was mold. Gene visited two days after the mold issue was addressed and gave a final estimate. We scheduled him to begin working the next day. He and a helper did the bulk of the work on Wednesday and finished the job on Thursday and Friday. The ceiling is seamless, the drywall was done without a flaw, the other room he worked on is in great shape as well. I would highly recommend him. <br /> <br /> In addition, Gene goes above and beyond his craft. He offered to bring back lunch from a local eatery when he went to eat, always answered my calls and emails promptly, and was very friendly. He was a pleasure to work with, and we paid for his expertise with no reservations."

They installed drywall around my furnace room and added soundproof insulation. They also installed drywall around the ceiling bulkheads and a few other areas to finish the basement, so that it was ready to paint. Everything came out looking very nice. I would recommended them and hire again."

"<p>Some of the curtain rods that they installed started falling down. We noticed that they didn't use any plastic that goes on the sheet rock. They just drilled screws right into the sheet rock, after a while we had certain ones on certain sides that started to pull out when the curtains went on there. I was disappointed. That's something very small and simple, fortunately the TV brackets were fine. It was a little disappointing. </p>"

"I gave a B on the price as Dave was the highest of 3 estimates, but he was the only one who noticed the water spots on the garage drywall ceiling and I felt was the best man for the job. Dave and his assistant were professional and cleaned up once the job was complete. The work was done in the agreed upon time of 1 week, even though cool, damp weather did create some problems for mud drying and finish sanding. I feel Dave is very responsible and would be a good fit for anyone needing his skills."
