"Wow! Unbelievable! If we ever have a water problem again, Pioneer will be the only waterproofing company that we call. We were getting some water in our basement which has a stack-stone foundation and radiant floor heating. We interviewed three companies and were particularly concerned about a solution that would stop the water without compromising the radiant tubes that were in the floor. Initially, Pioneer recommended a baseboard system that would run along the outside of the wall. Upon inspection, Mike Oliveira discussed a traditional drain to sump pump solution. We reiterated our concern about puncturing a tube in the floor and Mike assured us that he and his team would hand chisel potential problem areas to avoid the tubing. Moreover, this solution would save us roughly $2K and give us a lifetime guarantee vs. a 25 year guarantee on the baseboard system. The team showed up on time, cleared a 50' span of concrete by Noon, uncovered two sections of radiant tubing without puncturing the line, installed the moisture barrier, sump pump and new concrete by 4 p.m. They had to drill through a hefty header board to connect the pump line to an existing drainage line that carries water away from home and that was completed by 5:30 p.m. Mike came back in a week and we tested the fix using free-flow from our sprinkler system -- it worked perfectly. Subsequently we've had some consistent spring rain and absolutely no water in the basement. I contacted BDI late October 2018, worked out a contract with Keri and Leo to remove existing bulkhead, dispose of it, and replace it with a custom steel bulkhead that is primed and painted. In addition, the old stairs would be removed, disposed of, and replaced with custom built stairs that are up to code. I was kept up-to-date on the status of the project. Both bulkhead and stairs were completed late December 2018, due to weather constraints and BDI's heavy workload. The people completing the work were friendly and great about answering questions I had about the process. I am very pleased with the end product--plus, the bulkhead and stairs look great.
