"Beantown was really great to work with. We had all old shingles,tar paper and trim removed and had a window replaced. The new window was slightly bigger then the old one. It was no problem for the crew to install. The crews were punctual,respectful, knowledgeable and responsible. All old exterior siding was stripped, any rot found was dealt with, cleaned up at the end of each day. There was rot directly under the front door. The far corner of garage had massive rotting from years worth of small animals and ants.They were able to repair all areas without any problem. Any questions we had were answered in a timely manner. The materials were, are of great quality. They applied for and got the work permit from the town. They arranged for a dumpster to be delivered. Arranged for an electrician to come and remove exterior lights,meter and cables from house. We were told what and when things were going to happen. They have an attention to detail. The work included: Shingles,trim boards,tar paper, all nails pulled,wrapped entire house & detached garage in 2 different wraps, installed the new window, new siding & trim on both , new dryer and bathroom vent covers, new gutters and downspouts. They also boxed in the metal chimney pipe. Electrician came back and re attached meter,cables,etc to house. They also put up new lights we had picked out.The job was started on a Tuesday. Everything was completed 7 business days later. Our house went from the ugliest in the neighborhood to the most beautiful. We are still in awe of how nice it came out. "It was a BIG job that involved stripping everything off of a 1932 Dutch Gambrel and making the exterior new. We were committed to keeping an authentic look but decreasing maintenance and upkeep. We had budget constraints and the AEM team was patient and worked with us to get everything we wanted within our budget! Most people (including builders and contractor friends) compliment us on the "paint job" because they don't realize it is vinyl siding and not the original western red cedar clapboard. The crews were phenomenal!! The roofing crew wound up being there on the two hottest days of the summer. The AEM crew supervisor insisted on them taking breaks and kept pushing fluids. The roof looks amazing and the yard was cleaner when they left than when they arrived. The siding, windows, trim crew was also amazing. We found no insulation in the window cavities and 25 of the 27 windows had to be reframed! AEM worked with us to offset some of the costs to virtually eliminate any "extra cost" and were upfront and transparent throughout the process. My neighbors can't stop complimenting us on how well the house looks! They also couldn't believe that the whole job (start to finish) took less than 3 weeks!! Most smaller projects in the neighborhood that had started before ours were still in process after our job was finished. For a family of 5 with three young kids, an efficient and quick project was greatly appreciated. We now live in an 80+ year old house that has a 50 year guarantee on the entire exterior :-) Needless to say, I 1000% recommend AEM for your exterior home projects!"

We called Couto Construction because they did work for us before and we felt confident they had the right skilled workers and could complete the job before any more damage was done by water or snow. Couto is a large, professionally run construction firm that can tackle large projects. Jeff completed our estimates and worked with our insurance company to make sure our home was restored to its original condition. Carlos (project manager) and Eddie (foreman) were always responsive and listened to any questions or concerns. I had phone numbers for both and was encouraged to call with any concerns. Chris, Cesae, and Justin did meticulous work and went above and beyond on the plaster and made sure I was happy with the work. Cleanup was very thorough. The exterior crew worked long days and some weekends to take advantage of the dry weather and prevent further damage. Overall I am very pleased with the work. When choosing roofers it is especially important to find a team that will complete the work thoroughly and safely. Couto is certified by Owens Corning and you receive a long warranty for the roof.
