"We went to a Home and Garden Show and spoke to Mike the owner. We were given an appointment that was convenient for us. Mike came at set time and went over the price, product and all the guarantees. We had other estimates so Mike's was where we wanted to be. We hired him, we had used him 3 years ago for all new windows, back doors and vinyl siding. We weren't home when the roof was being replaced but our neighbors said the ground around our house was covered. The crew of about 10 people were very professional and cleaned up afterwards. Mike was waiting for us when we got home to look at the roof to make sure we were happy with it. We had many compliments from neighbors on how nice our roof looks. "They gave a good quote and were very easy to work with. The communication was also effective. I was not impressed with the workmanship though. I may consider hiring them for an out of the way spot but not for anything critical or highly visible. The example that I will give that I consider to be very indicative is that when they replaced one of the two boards with the dryer exhaust, the panel was not cut to allow for the dryer to actually exhaust. The dryer still works because half of the hole is still there in the board that didn't need replacement but still I now have to get up on my roof and do it myself so I don't loose efficiency in the dryer. This says to me that any other aspect of the job requiring attention to detail also needs to be checked - not what I want to be doing when I went to the trouble to hire someone else to do the work."

He assessed the damage, confirmed his contractor could do the repair, and answered a few questions I had on expectations. "Fantastic and professional. We have a small house and lost some of our gutters to a snow storm, so we decided to renovate the rest of our gutter system while repairing the damaged sections. Working with HGE was a refreshingly positive experience. All of their team members were courteous, straightforward, and responsive. The work took two days with a weather interruption in between, but communication was prompt which let us accommodate the weather. All in all, great company. I just wish they did fencing so I could hire them again."
