"I called their phone number and left a message. I received a return call within an hour and set up an appointment for that afternoon. Roy came, was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable and told me my options. Because the lamp had a built in dimmer in the middle of an extremely thin, six foot tall stem, if I wanted a dimmer he would have to install a floor dimmer. Because the lamp is plugged into an outlet controlled by a wall switch and I never use the dimmer, he was able to disconnect the built-in dimmer and just rewire the lamp. He was in and out in less than an hour, did an excellent job and was very neat about his work. I would never hesitate to recommend The Lamp Surgeon and would definitely use them again ."

They have been around for a really long time. In fact, I have been going to them periodically; it has to be at least 30 years. They tend to be a little pricey. She quoted me a price for the lampshade and it was a little weird, it was like $105 or something, and she just made it $100. She said that it would be ready in a week, and it was ready in a week."
