"Outstanding! John Sarmiento and his crew at New Creation did a wonderful job in re-tiling our bathrooms, including a new floor, new shower walls and flooring, and re-grouting wall tile. His results were remarkable, transformative--at the level of a true craftsman. But then John is a professional Tiler, and that’s reflected not only in the level of aesthetic detail, but also in the materials he recommends to ensure the job will last without issues, likely for the life of the home. If that wasn’t enough, John and his crew are gentlemen—friendly, polite, and respectful of the home they work in, laying down mats from the entrance to the work area so as not to harm anything in the course of their work. And they completed the work quickly, all within a week, and at a very fair price, as agreed upon in advance. We were so impressed with his work and price that we’ve decided to hire him back for additional tiling in one of the bathrooms. "Judging from the reviews, I guess we are the only ones disappointed with our experience with Central New England Soapstone. Our negative experience is based almost entirely on their lack of responsiveness and communication. I called twice and left messages - got no response. A couple of weeks later my partner called twice - and finally got a callback the second time. <br /> Dave was given the specs regarding the job, but seemed very busy and distracted. Apparently he was doing trade shows. It took at least another phone call and more than a week to get a quote. It was approx $600 more than the local fabricator's, and he refused to cut the backsplash to 3/4 inch width (because we were using Beleza soapstone), which the local fabricator (Continental Stone-Sterling MA) said they could do. <br /> We were put off by the difficulty of communicating with New England Soapstone and really wanted 3/4" backsplash so we went with Continental Stone. In retrospect, even though the backsplash came out great and the job was not a disaster, they botched the sink cutout and we wish we would have used a soapstone specialist. <br /> Interestingly, we met a couple from Sherborn MA while looking at slabs at Dorado Soapstone. They were using Dave, and found him very accommodating, to the degree that they were able to negotiate a quote of almost $9000 down to about $6000. As I recall it worked out to be less than $70 sq foot - our quote was for over $100 a square foot. Obviously their job was larger, but I wonder if Dave is more interested in doing work in affluent communities, where one job is more likely to lead to another. He just didn't seem very interested in our project. <br />"

"The people at New England Stone Technology were very pleasant and easy to deal with. My call was returned the same day, and I was able to send photos of the project in order to obtain an estimate over the phone and schedule an appointment. On the morning of the appointment, the technician, Lou, telephoned to advise me that he was a little behind schedule, but then he arrived when he said he would. I appreciated his communicating the slight delay. Lou was very nice and professional and was knowledgeable about the cause of the fissures in the granite and took the time to explain them to me. He was also upfront with me about the repair results he could achieve. The job was a little pricey, $450 for an hour and a half of work, but I am pleased with the results and feel confident that the work will protect the integrity of the granite countertops, extend its life, and enhance it's beauty. I would use this company again and recommend them to others. <br />"
