"Since we have had ice dam damage during two major snow storms over the past 10 years, our roof was 16 years old, and are planning to sell our house in 2019, we asked Power to assess the roof condition and give us an estimate for replacement. The salesman did a thorough inspection and pointed out several instances of wear and damage to both the roof and fascia boards. Although he spent much too long going over the Power products and the procedures (till too late at night), we were impressed by Power's multi-faceted approach to preventing ice dams and other water damage. What sold us on doing the roof now, however, before selling the house, was the salesman's assurance that the warranty was backed by a national company and transferable to the new owners. Since we have Gutter Shield gutter guards, he said that we'd need to have those removed by the Gutter Shield installer before the roof was done and then replaced afterwards. He did not tell us (and perhaps did not know), that replacing the fascia required removing the gutters and that they would need to be replaced exactly as before in order for the gutter guards to fit. This turned out to be a major problem. When the pre-install inspection manager came to go over the procedures and schedule the work, he told us that the gutters would have to be removed and there would be an additional charge to reinstall them. Because of the misunderstanding, he waived the re-installation charge---but apparently also did not know about the problem of re-installing the gutter guards onto gutters that were no longer exactly in the same place. Power sends a large crew, so the roofing job is normally completed in one day. We had some rain, so it took two days, which was not a problem and the roofing part of the job seems to have been done quite well. The supervisor of the roofing crew was super helpful and kept us abreast of everything they were doing. The fascia and gutter crew, however, had no obvious supervisor and did not communicate with either us or the roofing supervisor. Moreover, they used our vinyl deck railing to support a ladder (unnecessarily in our view) and damaged the railing, and they remounted the front gutter with too steep an incline (by a factor of two or more). Power sends a quality assurance manager after completion of the job to make sure everything is in order, provide the warranty information and collect the payment. When we read the warranty we discovered that Power's labor warranty is not transferable, contrary to what the salesman had told us. (The GAF shingle warranty is transferable, but that's true with any roofing company.) Since this was the decisive feature that led us to contract with Power, we raised objections. The quality assurance manager called the regional project manager, who prepared an addendum extending the labor warranty to the next owners. He also offered to pay the cost of having the Gutter Shield installer rehang the gutters with a correct incline. The pre-install inspection manager suggested that Mr Clean MagicEraser could be used to polish up the damaged railing (which we have successfully done) . Overall we were pleased with the company's thoroughness, quality of product, and communications. We would rate the work an 'A' except for the untruthful statements of the salesman and the poor communication and sloppiness of the fascia crew. We did not receive other quotes for the work, so we suspect that Power's was on the high side, though not too much out of line compared with what we paid in 2002. If the Power roofing system prevents future ice dams, any extra cost will be well worth it."

"Fourth Generation Construction did a beautiful job renovating the entire two bedroom apartment. from painting the ceilings, walls, doors, baseboards, closet and replacing the kitchen floor and kitchen countertops. The replaced the bathtub and repaired the plumbing that had a leak. They replaced with new (in the wall") an extra large air condition, hood over the stove and exhaust fan in the bathroom. They repaired and painted the deck and stairs outside. They repaired the window sills outside and painted them, all "IN A TIMELY MANNER"! Lastly, I am also pleased with the painting of the two room office and the replacement of the drop ceiling panels. They are a very nice, friendly team. Their costs are reasonable. I recommend them highly. You will not be disappointed. :-)"

We installed vinyl siding, wrapped all exposed wood in aluminum, and replaced the soffits on the house. It looks beautiful! "It was a BIG job that involved stripping everything off of a 1932 Dutch Gambrel and making the exterior new. We were committed to keeping an authentic look but decreasing maintenance and upkeep. We had budget constraints and the AEM team was patient and worked with us to get everything we wanted within our budget! Most people (including builders and contractor friends) compliment us on the "paint job" because they don't realize it is vinyl siding and not the original western red cedar clapboard. The crews were phenomenal!! The roofing crew wound up being there on the two hottest days of the summer. The AEM crew supervisor insisted on them taking breaks and kept pushing fluids. The roof looks amazing and the yard was cleaner when they left than when they arrived. The siding, windows, trim crew was also amazing. We found no insulation in the window cavities and 25 of the 27 windows had to be reframed! AEM worked with us to offset some of the costs to virtually eliminate any "extra cost" and were upfront and transparent throughout the process. My neighbors can't stop complimenting us on how well the house looks! They also couldn't believe that the whole job (start to finish) took less than 3 weeks!! Most smaller projects in the neighborhood that had started before ours were still in process after our job was finished. For a family of 5 with three young kids, an efficient and quick project was greatly appreciated. We now live in an 80+ year old house that has a 50 year guarantee on the entire exterior :-) Needless to say, I 1000% recommend AEM for your exterior home projects!"
