"John Balayan, the owner of Arakelian Rugs, is truly amazing! We called Arakelian Rugs after a disastrous spill on our oriental rug that resulted in red splatters in a large section of the rug. John not only immediately contacted us, he also came right out to see if it would even be possible to repair the damage. We are truly amazed that the team at Arakelian was able to restore our rug - we cannot even see any remnants of the stain! John gave us a timeframe for each step of the process and kept in touch with us throughout. We then had several other rugs cleaned at very reasonable prices. The rugs were picked up, delivered, and placed. We also purchased new padding which makes such a difference. We are truly grateful to the entire team at Arakelian Rugs for such professional and outstanding service."

"The sales team was helpful and professional when I went in person to select what I need. The person who measured is an owner of the business. He gave me a written quote immediately after taking measurements. I checked the math and there was a mistake with the addition resulting in an overcharge of over $600 (if I didn't catch it). They were professional about correcting the error.  <br /> Installers started last week. They are subcontractors for Eddy's. They did one of the rooms beautifully then discovered one of the rooms' carpet was not cut correctly for them. It was cut at Eddy's based on the measurements however measurements were off by a foot and half. This delayed the project. They are fixing it and we are not paying for the extra time nor wasted carpet. <br /> We are surprised by the simple math mistakes (with significant consequences) for a relatively small project. Pleased that they are professional about fixing mistakes.  <br />"

"Everything looks wonderful. For 10 year old rugs, with 5 boys, they really look great. At this point, we know we can't get rid of every stain, but this is such an improvement and we know the rugs are clean for the boys to play on. <br />"

"I give Britton my highest and most emphatic recommendation. They got the job because another contractor, who gave us a lower estimate, didn't get back to us to answer questions -- I was able to get Britton to adjust parameters of the job to improve the pricing. The two best things about Britton are (1) the quality of the work, which was excellent -- the attention to detail here went beyond my own scrutiny, 98% done right first time, but no detail too small to fix and (2) the level of customer service. Ryan, the project manager on the job, was here nearly every day, answered every single question, was highly responsive on email, explained everything in detail, and treated us like royalty. Their workers were nice and helpful and responsive, too. But Ryan is a total asset and made very happy I chose them. A bunch of stuff went wrong here, none of it Britton's fault. I needed to replace my washer and dryer in the middle of the job -- they worked the laundry room schedule around it. The plumbing supplies company delivered the wrong size shower -- they helped me get that straightened out. The roof started leaking and I needed a new roof and to resize some windows to prevent ice dams -- they gave us a quote, integrated the new pieces into the job, and worked around the roofer's schedule. They figured out how to stage it so we'd have a working shower partway through the job. And when they did make a mistake -- causing cracks in a wall next to the bathroom, little leaks in a shower enclosure, ordering a window that opened the wrong way -- they fixed it and charged us nothing. They also kept exactly to their quote. The only additional changes were things that we explicitly added to the job that weren't in the original spec, like additional lighting or adding a dryer circuit -- and the charges for those were reasonable. It's such a pleasure working with these people. And if you've done any remodeling, you know that's unusual."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in East-templeton, MA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
