"This was a large and multi-layered repair process. The Paul Davis team was excellent to work with. Each one of their contractors was efficient and so easy to work with. They know their business and conduct themselves professionally and with great courtesy. I am delighted that the repairs are completed and I am grateful that this professional group did the work."

"
We met with Jon the owner and decided to go with them because they specialized in remodeling jobs, and not doing new home constructions. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned and from my observation, a lot of the issues had to do with having various crews doing various parts of the job.

We walked through the job with Jon, and the together we marked what was getting worked on and what was not. We did the same walk through with his crew when they got there. The crew was very careful to isolate the construction area from the rest of the house which we were glad about. Unfortunately they demo'd more than they should have in some areas, and didn't do proper prep in others.

We pointed out the problems to Jon and he assured us he would take care of them (more on that later).

The next person to come in was the one that was going to hang the drywall. He was upset because the first crew did not remove any of the old nails like they were supposed to. So, instead of removing the nails he pounded them so it would go faster, and was getting nail pops when he started to hang but told us that would get fixed when it was mudded.

When mudding and prep were all done there were a number of obvious issues that were still present so I asked Jon to come in so we could show him, and get corrected. This time he came in with his crew lead, we walked through and pointed things out and he assured us they would be fixed.

A little side-note: JB's crew lead was sick during the first two stages. Normally he's the one that ensures all crews communicate throughout the process. The person that was filling in was obviously not ready to step into that role based on all of our problems.

They did try to fix the issues we pointed out and I believe they were fixed to the best of their ability considering the conditions, but the issues were still obvious to me because I know what they should look like. BUT, had they not done the demo and prep the way they did, these issues would not have popped up, not had to be made to work, and not still be present.

Now, back to the extra demo that was done. Jon had another contractor come in that did wood and trim to fix the extra demo. I appreciate him calling someone else in. It shows that he knows his limitations, and is going to make sure things get done correctly.

Once everything was done we had them prime the room, we painted, and when we went to put all of the light and plug covers on they would not go on. It turns out that when they cut the drywall around the boxes (they were left in place during remodel) they cut it out incorrectly. Another call to Jon and he followed up with a visit to the house with some potential workarounds. In the end I was able to get things flush again, but I know that things are not done the way they should have been done had mistakes not been made earlier in the job.

There are still issued with the job like small gaps where there shouldn't be, and most recently when we went to hang a curtain rod we got a nail pop because of the poor prep and hanging stages.

I do have to say that throughout the whole process Jon took ownership of the issues, and really tried to find a resolution. I respect him for that, but there is a point where you're done having folks come into your house and try to fix mistakes, at least that's the point we got to. Now we just have to live with the imperfections which I notice on almost a daily basis.

"

"Everything turned out great. The crew was good about cleaning up each day. They were able to handle or manage a long list of deferred maintenance and repairs needed including getting plumbing and electrical subcontractors out quickly for unknown issues that came up. Planning on using them for additional work in the Spring."
