"Judging from the reviews, I guess we are the only ones disappointed with our experience with Central New England Soapstone. Our negative experience is based almost entirely on their lack of responsiveness and communication. I called twice and left messages - got no response. A couple of weeks later my partner called twice - and finally got a callback the second time. <br /> Dave was given the specs regarding the job, but seemed very busy and distracted. Apparently he was doing trade shows. It took at least another phone call and more than a week to get a quote. It was approx $600 more than the local fabricator's, and he refused to cut the backsplash to 3/4 inch width (because we were using Beleza soapstone), which the local fabricator (Continental Stone-Sterling MA) said they could do. <br /> We were put off by the difficulty of communicating with New England Soapstone and really wanted 3/4" backsplash so we went with Continental Stone. In retrospect, even though the backsplash came out great and the job was not a disaster, they botched the sink cutout and we wish we would have used a soapstone specialist. <br /> Interestingly, we met a couple from Sherborn MA while looking at slabs at Dorado Soapstone. They were using Dave, and found him very accommodating, to the degree that they were able to negotiate a quote of almost $9000 down to about $6000. As I recall it worked out to be less than $70 sq foot - our quote was for over $100 a square foot. Obviously their job was larger, but I wonder if Dave is more interested in doing work in affluent communities, where one job is more likely to lead to another. He just didn't seem very interested in our project. <br />"

"I met them in their showroom to review my plans and select a stone; They we very patient with my indecision and changes. Once a material was selected, they scheduled an appointment at my home to 'template' the counters. Two weeks later, my counters were ready and they we very accommodating to my contractor's schedule. They had to come back to look at what appeared to be a 'mlky film' on the counter surfaces; they never hassled me and found the solution immediately. Each step of the way, Galaxy was very punctual and professional. I love my counters!"

"It's been a year since the team at iKitchens completed my kitchen renovation. Happy to say that I'm even <em>happier </em>with the results than I was after the job was completed, and that's saying alot! <br /> From the design thru to the final "punch list", the iKitchens team was wonderful to work with.  Lou Ann came up with a great design, and worked with me to refine and make changes so I had exactly what I wanted and needed.  Jim was fantastic as the on-site coordinator and Rich kept everything running smoothly.  Everyone who stepped thru my door was great to work with. There were challenges, but from the electrician to the finishing touches, everyone had wonderful attention to detail. I especially liked the  iKitchens Web page where Rich and the team kept track of every step and we could communicate any schedule changes or concerns with the project. <br /> I chose iKitchens after I decided that the iKea Scandanavian style was what I wanted (after a trip to Iceland). Although people think of iKea as a DIY project, having design and installation specialists means a much more efficient and polished result.  The folks from iKitchens understand the iKea products so well and can figure out just how everything should fit together and how to finish those tricky places where a DIYer might not know what to do. Also, they recommended many slight design changes that I wouldn't have thought of that make a world of difference during regular use.  <br /> These guys are great, and I would highly recommend them.  I just wish I had another project to work on so I could have them back! <br />"
