"From inception to completion everything went very smoothly. Attention to detail was outstanding. Peter and everyone he hired were always polite, courteous and genuinely interested in doing the best job possible. Framing, insulation, electric (new wiring, lighting of various kinds, new circuits), new fireplace, wainscoting, multi-colored paint scheme, new doors, cork floor, steps going into the house from the garage, and converting a small room adjacent to the garage into a walk-in closet were all done impeccably. The room is truly a pleasure to just sit in and enjoy the vibe. It's that nice."

"The building was built, workmanship was good. <br /> The biggest problem was the absolute lack of communication. <br /> It would take days and sometimes as much as a week for them to return phone calls, emails or texts. <br /> After many complaints about this they finally assigned a new person to communicate with me. <br /> While she did communicate better than the first person, it would still take a long time to get an answer. <br /> The schedule was the biggest conflict. It appeared like they were building this as a hobby instead of getting someone out there on a daily basis. At times I thought that the job had been abandoned. <br /> The contract was approved in April of 2014, I was told that it would take 2 weeks to get a permit, due to their lack of communication it took months. There were some simple problems with getting survey dimensions, and as the contractor would not return the calls of the surveyor, just like not returning my calls, it dragged on into the summer. <br /> When they did start, they would work a few days, then disappear for a week or so, never letting me know when they would be back. <br /> problems occurred during the job, the holdowns were not installed per plan and the building department would not buy them off until it was re-engineered. The stairway was not built to code and they finally had the inspector declare it as "not habitable area" to buy it off. <br /> This was not a big concern of mine as the stairway was workable for me. <br /> They had told me that the garage would come with an automatic door opener, but as it was not written in the contract, they wanted to charge for it. I declined as with their track record it might have taken another few months to get it installed. <br /> After a lot of hounding they finally finished the job in December."

"He was a subcontractor for another company that did some work here, and they were excellent. I think the cost was pretty reasonable. They man is a real artist. He has a Great Dane that rides around in the truck with him! He is a very well-behaved dog. He is a very pleasant man and reliable. He was very busy at the time the job was done, so to get him back to seal the cement took a little longer than he had anticipated. I would love to have him come back, but I don't have anything for him to do at the moment."

"The person I talked on the phone with was really easy to talk to and helpful.  I have never hired anybody before for the repairs on the house and she gave me a little help on deciding how to go about it.  They were very prompt.  They took care of things to my satisfaction.   They took pictures of their work so we don’t have to go under to see if they actually did the work.  I was impressed with their work and we will definitely call them back if needed.   The quality of work was excellent.  They were very clean.  They explained thing s to me when I asked questions."

"Warmzone has been very responsive. However, the installers made mistakes installing the system and when they went to correct it, somehow caused damage that made the system inoperable. They had to come back a year later and redo it. Now it works pretty good. Every time I've had questions Warmzone has been very responsive. i would use them again--but use their recommended installers and not my contractors who did it last time. <br /> One caveat: The system doesn't always work perfectly in very cold weather with fast accumulating snow. We have old-fashioned clay brick pavers. Next time I'll send Warmzone a sample of the pavers so that they can test for the power needed to operate the system effectively. <br /> But--they sell a great product and they're very helpful to deal with. They'll get right on the phone with you and troubleshoot, even long after the sale. <br />"

"Faber Construction's housing division, called West Coast Homes, was one of three companies to build on the house, and while the three companies came in with very different numbers, once we included in the taxes, the hook-up fees, etc. and managed to compare apples to apples all three prices were just about identical. So Faber Construction was very competitive on price. <br /> <br /> But where we were so pleased with them was in our regular interaction with Raymond Faber (at one point we were either emailing or talking on the phone with him daily) and his ability to make clear, but not pushy suggestions. We have never built a house, so we wanted someone to help us make the decisions. We explained to Raymond where we wanted quality, even if it cost a little more, and where we wanted to cut costs if there was any way to do so. Working with him we managed to cut about $15,000 off of the original price of the build. He had numerous helpful suggestions, and would present them with his opinion clearly stated. But if we wanted to go a different direction (happened a few times) he would quickly hop on board with us and offer ideas on how we best accomplish this other idea. <br /> <br /> In addition, while we had an architect design our house, there were some hiccups in his design (ex. he didn't leave enough space for our staircase) that could have been quite stressful, but which Raymond helped us solve quickly. In addition, Raymond found us extra space on the plan that allowed us to put in a small washroom upstairs. <br /> So, in other words, he: <br /> <ol> <ol> <li></li> <li>1) saved us money</li> <li>2) gave us innumerable ideas</li> <li>2) presented those ideas in a clear, and not pushy, manner</li> <li>3) solve us some serious headaches</li> <li>4) answered our questions quickly (the same day)</li> </ol> </ol> <ul> <li></li> </ul> I'd highly recommend them and am so thankful that we went with them. I've heard horror stories about builders adding on costs for any minor changes that might be made, but have found Raymond and Faber Construction to be very straightforward, honest and trustworthy. I can't speak highly enough of them."

FAQs for concrete driveways & floors installation projects in Eastsound, WA

Polished concrete floors offer many benefits with very few drawbacks. While issues like discoloration, stains, or imprints may occur during pouring, these are rare when working with a skilled flooring contractor. Once polished, concrete floors are easy to maintain, long-lasting, and eco-friendly. They also resist mold and moisture, making them ideal for allergy-prone households, and offer versatile design options for both indoor and outdoor use.

Polished concrete flooring is often more affordable than tile. It involves lower material costs and less labor-intensive installation. Tile installations require additional leveling and preparation, which increases labor costs. Opting for concrete flooring helps reduce upfront expenses and provides a durable, stylish finish that saves money over time with minimal maintenance.

While epoxy flooring offers enhanced durability and toughness compared to polished concrete, it comes with higher material and labor costs. If budget is a top priority, polished concrete floors provide a resilient and attractive finish without the premium price tag, making them an ideal choice for value and long-term performance.

Polished concrete floors last 20 years or more when installed by licensed professionals and maintained with proper care. Their enduring finish withstands heavy use and remains visually impressive for decades. Regular deep cleaning and maintenance help safeguard the floor’s integrity, providing homeowners with a long-lasting, cost‐effective solution that endures daily wear without compromising style.

Polished concrete floors increase home value by offering a modern, sleek appearance and exceptional durability. A professionally installed floor not only enhances visual appeal but also minimizes maintenance expenses, making the property more attractive to prospective buyers. This flooring upgrade delivers a refined look while boosting overall market competitiveness and long-term property value.
