"Well. They were neat, quite, polite, and professional. Additionally, they offered the best price for a bonded liquid termite treatment of the 3 providers I sought estimates from.
"

"My call was responded to promptly, and the service provider came to my home where he cleaned up the mess left by the raccoon and set a trap to catch him. I informed the owner, at the time, that we have a lot of squirrels and inquired how I could be assured that a squirrel would not eat bait/be trapped instead of a raccoon. He explained squirrels do not like the type of bait he left. I assumed, incorrectly, the trap door would not close by the weight of a squirrel (as it weighs less than a raccoon).
In order to have this service performed, I was told I would also need to have/pay for a full inspection of my premises so any point of entry into house could be corrected. Even though I did not desire this service, I went along with it in order to get rid of the raccoon and the problems it was causing. However, I got the sense that finding areas where and quot;home improvementand quot; could be addressed and charged for (at a hefty price) was of primary interest with this company. For example, I was told that there are 14 small exterior openings in my attic through which birds (or other critters) could access; those openings could be screened for an additional $350, and it was highly recommended we do so. We have lived in our home for almost 40 years without a problem in our attic area and feel if we should ever need to have screen placed over these openings, we could get an individual we know to do it for much less than $350. Before he left on this initial visit, I was charged/had to pay $199.50 (this was with the 5% Angie's coupon I used) for the approximate 30-40 minutes he was here.
The morning after the trap was set for the raccoon, all of the bait was gone. However, so was the raccoon. The trap had not worked. We called the owner, and he promptly returned to re-bait the trap. The following morning, part of the bait was gone, but the raccoon was still not trapped. However, that afternoon, I heard a racket on our deck and looked out to see a squirrel and a dove trapped in the cage. The squirrel was going crazy, attacking the dove, and feathers were flying everywhere. I called the owner about the situation, and he returned to remove the squirrel, the dead bird, and the cage they were in. He left a new, rebaited cage, and charged $59. This time he would not accept the 5% Angie's coupon, even though I saw no notice on the coupon saying it could only be used once and I had told him (the first time I used the coupon) that I would be using it again.
When reading the reviews on Angie's list about this company, I read that a few months ago $25 was charged for the removal of a mole, which is about the same size of a squirrel. I don't understand this price discrepancy, unless it is because the other customer had a 3-month contract with the company. However, we were told it would be an $89 charge for the removal of the raccoon (the and quot;targetand quot; critter) and $59 charge for removal of any and quot;non-targetand quot; critter. Another recent review (posted less than 2 months ago), notes that a customer paid $129 in an (unsuccessful) attempt to have flying squirrels removed from an attic. I don't understand why an initial $210 and quot;inspection/trap set-up feeand quot; wasn't charged at that time as it was with us. When I first called, I was told the cost would probably be more, due to our deck being on 3rd level of our house and a ladder would have to be used. However, we have direct access to our 3rd level deck, no ladder was needed, and it was only because of the and quot;required inspectionand quot; that they needed to go into our attic--which I think was for specific purpose of finding other, more costly work that could be contracted. I do not feel such a discrepancy in prices reflects professionalism or encourages trustworthiness.
The morning after the newly baited cage was set out, the bait was still there; still we had no raccoon. As I did not want to chance trapping another squirrel, bird, or whatever critter might be on the loose and have to pay another $59, I called and asked for the cage to be removed. I then ordered some Critter Repellent (removed weblink) for $15 which has over a 100 favorable reviews and a full refund if not effective for repelling raccoons. I only wish I had done that prior to spending almost $259.00 to absolutely NO avail--just a lot of aggravation.
I really think this service is very much over-priced--and, of course, there is no guarantee that the animal you're trying to catch will even be caught."

"They are good. They are pretty conscientious. They know what kind of plants to put for the right location because everybody here has little micro climates, with the sun, temperature, trees, the angle of your house and water. They are very good designers at figuring out what will work for the most part and very willing to do what needs to be done. They went above and beyond."
