"They were the only company that said they would be there as soon as they finished a job. They came, quoted a reasonable price, left to get supplies, returned and fixed the problem plus other little potential problems he saw on the roof. Make them your first call for a really good handyman. Plus they do power washing and home interior cleaning. Very nice people. Will use again."

"<p><strong>Eddie Cook built my garage. Cost about 30% of any market price. The specs. were right on, foundation & building, no complaints.</strong></p> <p><strong>I forgot to get the addition to the door; the overhang shelter for the entrance. </strong></p> <p><strong>The next step; front splash plates on the bottom of the garage doors; (to keep the water and rot from destroying the doors).</strong></p> <p><strong>His work is great, the cost factor: no one can beat this Preachers price and attitude.</strong></p> <br />"

Our penetrating sealant completely eliminates the effort & expense of frequent washing and top coats for your wood and concrete surfaces. \n\nWe stand by our work with a 25 year warranty against splitting, cracking, warping & rotting wood and pitting, cracking and spalling concrete. On top of that, all sealed wood and concrete surfaces stay cleaner longer, as our process limits fungal growth. \n\nWe do not build or repair decks, fences, pergolas, patios or driveways (but can refer you to contractors that do) if using our service to protect those structures.

I told them exactly where I wanted the gutters put... they called me back after analyzing my house... and told me their plan... we agreed... and they went right to work... they were AWESOME... "Knowledgable Company Representatives visited me on five separate occasions, at no cost to me, in order to solve several complex problems associated with my requirements. They also prepared comprehensive Materials Lists, including sources, to minimize my costs. This required substantial time and effort on their part. They also accompanied me and represented me during several visits to the State Inspectors. <br /> The Contractor and I had a signed Contract and a Start Date of mid-November for the Project. <br /> Unfortunately, after all of this effort, the Inspector presented a "Load and Lift" objection that made it impossible for me to proceed because of dramatically increased costs. The Contractor and I disagree with the Inspector's decision. Accordingly, I am in the process of hiring a Structural Engineer to determine if a cost-effective Engineering Plan can be developed to deal with the Inspector's issues. <br /> In my opinion, BP Trades and Professional Services is an OUTSTANDING company in every aspect. If I get a farorable outcome from the Engineer, I intend to execute our contract and proceed. <br /> I will most certainly use them for any future Projects that fit their capabilities, and I would highly recommend them to everyone. <br /> Terry Wise, LCDR (LDO), USN, Ret. <br />"

FAQs for deck, fence, patio or porch clean and seal projects in Edenton, NC

You should clean your deck before sealing it. Cleaning before refinishing is critical. If you don’t remove dirt and debris, you'll trap moisture in the wood, which prevents the new sealer from working correctly and can lead to costly repairs. Whether you need to sand, power wash, or sandblast depends on your deck's condition.

Sealing and staining your deck are essential maintenance methods that protect and beautify your outdoor space. Stain adds rich color and guards against fading, while sealant fortifies the wood against moisture and weather damage. Wood type, climate, deck age, and the degree of existing damage determine whether your deck benefits from one or both treatments. Using both options extends your deck’s durability and enhances its overall appearance.

Power washing and sealing your deck costs $500 to $1,700. This process combines the removal of stubborn dirt and debris with a protective seal that preserves the wood’s integrity. Effective cleaning eliminates harmful buildup, and a proper seal prevents moisture damage and wood decay, ensuring long-term durability and reducing future repair expenses.

Your deck must be sealed every one to three years to maintain its strength and appearance. Regular sealing is essential to protect the wood against moisture, mold, and harmful UV rays. A consistent sealing schedule prevents rapid deterioration and costly repairs. Inspections should be performed annually to determine if the protective layer remains intact, extending the life of your deck.

Leaving your deck untreated compromises its structural integrity and safety. An unprotected deck rots quickly due to moisture and environmental exposure, which means that neglecting sealing results in rapid decay and expensive replacement costs of $4,125 to $11,650. Sealing your deck is essential for maintaining its durability and protecting your home.

The sealant on your deck dries within a few hours and reaches full cure within 72 hours before regular use. It is essential to wait until the complete curing period to ensure the protective layer fully sets and resists weather and foot traffic. Proper drying guarantees that your deck is fully protected against moisture and environmental damage, ensuring lasting quality.
