"My experience with Ergeon was fantastic! They gave me a quote on the spot, and then 4 days later lowered the quote by $400. They provide a 4 year warranty and took care of all permits. They dismantled my old fence and built 60ft of my new fence in one day. And it looks amazing!! They are the real deal!"

"I took a chance on a company new to Angi and what a great experience. They were prompt with the bid and explained why there's was a little higher then another one as they used cedar rails and caps instead of pressure treated and why those are better. They could install in 3 days and arrived in time. They finished when they said they would. Thank you Andres for a beautiful cedar fence!!!"

Lawn Care - Maintain and Mow a Lawn

"Rafael was the BEST!!! He contacted me immediately about the job posting and made arrangements to come and see the job. He showed up on time. He was courteous and professional and clearly knew his stuff. I asked him to quote me for two separate jobs. One job was delivering and spreading 5 yards of topsoil distributing according to the grade I had established and compacting it with a roller in preparation for seeding. The second job entailed the removal of about 25 feet of mature juniper hedge. This hedge was old and very messy. Haul away all debris. Pull back rock from the old dry river bed that was covered by the junipers. Lay down landscaping cloth and replace rock on top to restore dry river bed to its original appearance. Within 24 hours Rafael provided me a very fair quote for each job in writing. His quote was well below the quotes I received from three other bidders. I asked him how much help he had, how soon he could start, and how long he thought the job would take. He said he had one guy working with him and would probably have his almost 13 year old son who was on winter break with him. He could start the coming Thursday and felt both jobs could be completed in a day. He has great communication skills and kept me informed. Early in the morning he picked up the soil and arrived at my home when he said he would. All three of them worked exceptionally hard and were friendly and cheerful in doing their work. They had all the necessary tools for the job. His young son was a delight and carried his own weight. I was very impressed with their work. They finished both jobs beautifully and exactly as I had asked. They were respectful of my new brick patio and walkways, my existing plants and sprinkler heads. They cleaned up after everything was completed. Of all the workers/contractors I’ve hired over the years in California, in Alaska, and here in Washington, Rafael is by far the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of hiring. I highly recommend him to anyone!"

Frequently asked questions

  • Budget: Your budget is central in influencing which fence you buy. Figure out your spending limit and determine your budget per linear foot, as fencing costs can quickly add up.
  • Durability: Consider strength, lifespan, resistance to pests, rot and fungus, rust, and the material’s ability to withstand local weather conditions.
  • Maintenance: Maintenance, cleaning and repairs should be simple and minimal.
  • Purpose: The style of fence you choose should be suitable for its intended purpose.
  • Installation: Find out what installation requirements, such as foundations or supports, are necessary. Research if DIY is possible or if professional installation is your only option.

  • Wood fence styles range from traditional to contemporary and from purely functional to attractive and decorative.
  • Lattice fences are affordable and decorative. You can use them as privacy fences by growing dense foliage over them.
  • Vertical board fences are the most common type of residential fence. There are budget-friendly options available as well as higher-end panels. Vertical board fences are affordable choices for basic privacy and security fences.
  • Picket fences conjure up cozy images of traditional properties with carefully tended lawns. They’re good for demarcating a property boundary but don’t provide much security.
  • Post-and-rail fences are a solid choice for making a boundary over a large area, as material use is minimal. However, they don’t provide any security or privacy.
  • Metal fences are generally stronger and more secure than other materials. You can choose from highly ornate and secure metalwork or simple but functional wire. For the higher-end options, which are often costly, homeowners often reduce costs per square foot by combining the metal with brick.
  • Aluminum fencing is an attractive, more affordable alternative to wrought iron. Although it has a similar appearance, it’s not as strong as wrought iron.
  • Steel fencing is a strong, long-lasting fencing option that’s good for creating a secure barrier around your home.
  • Vinyl fencing made from PVC comes in a range of styles, including those that mimic real wood.
  • Composite fencing is an amalgamation of wood fibers, pulp or sawdust and ground plastic particles that are bonded and held together by an acrylic resin. It looks and feels like real wood and is an environmentally friendly choice, as it usually contains a high percentage of recycled materials.
  • Wire fences are not made to enhance the aesthetics of your property, although some homeowners opt for black fencing to help boost aesthetics. They are inexpensive, purely functional products suitable for DIY or professional installation.
  • Barbed wire fencing isn’t common in residential settings. While it’s an inexpensive, fierce and intimidating security deterrent, it isn’t attractive and will not add value to your home.
