"The price included 7% sales tax, 2 slabs of a 3 cm thick Dolomite stone, Akoya Pearl, install and fabricate 98sf, flat edge profile, steel reinforced under mount to sink and cooktop cut outs, supplied 18g stainless steel 50/50 sink, outlet cutouts. The installation is beautiful! Benjamin and his crew were very efficient in the planning and executing of every detail. I am most impressed in how Benjamin preplanned the best use of the slabs, to make sure it would all fit and how well he matched the pieces where the seams were needed. They were also able to add in a few extra requests with no problem. These guys are artists in what they do in their attention to nuances. I highly recommend them. Office staff is excellent as well. Katie and Heather were most helpful during the whole process. The Stone Shop had been recommended to me by two other relatives whose kitchen counters were installed by them."

"Dwayne came over and gave an estimate; he advised putting tile in on the diagonal since the new tile would not match the adjacent tile in the bath and laundry room. That was a GOOD CALL. <br /> The workers (not including Dwayne) showed up exactly when they were supposed to, and the three on the first day and two (same guys) on the second day were very pleasant and professional in their presentation. <br /> I had already removed the previous flooring, and only a little bit of the mastic was left. <br /> On the first day, they moved the refrigerator, removed all remaining mastic, and installed the tile at a 45-degree angle, as Dwayne recommended. We had to stay out of the kitchen overnight while the cement dried. <br /> On the second day, two of them came back and grouted the floor. Again, they were timely and professional in their manner. <br /> It was only after they left that I became aware of what a disappointing job they did. I walked in the kitchen for the first time and at first i thought I had something (a nail?) on the bottom of my shoe. But no, it was the uneven installation of the tiles. I was totally dismayed to find that the installer had NOT leveled the floor, or paid any attention to how thick the cement under the tile needed to be, so as to make each tile level with its neighbor. There are now many areas (tile joins) in my floor where my shoe catches on the uneven tiles. <br /> This is not acceptable. <br /> Then I noticed that in the area where they were installing tiles near the end of the job, the tile seams did not line up. There are places where the seams between two tiles do not line up with the seam of the two adjacent tiles, sometimes being off by almost half an inch. <br /> This also is unacceptable. <br /> I figured the amount I paid for the job ($1,500) and the number of man-hours put in on the job, and it came out to over $58 an hour. For this kind of money, I expect more professional work. <br /> Then, when I went outside, I discovered the workers had drained the catch basin of their water saw directly onto my driveway. This was a mixture of water and tile dust, and it left huge ugly streaks on my driveway. Once again, I was dismayed at their lack of professionalism in failure to clean up after themselves. <br /> I decided I had to talk to the owner. So I called Dwayne and told him, and quot;I need you to come look at the job your guys did, and tell me what you think before I do my writeup for your company on Angie's List. <br /> Dwayne showed up within an hour. He agreed that the uneven tiles were and quot;toe catchersand quot; and that they should have installed the tiles more on the level and that the lines should have been straight where they were not. He looked at me and heaved a sigh, and said, and quot;I could have them come back and chip out the tiles if you want. But we'd probably have to chip out most of them so we could set them back even.and quot; <br /> It was obvious to me he was tremendously reluctant to repair the bad job his men had done. He DID OFFER, and I told him I didn't want to endure another three days of mess in my kitchen. <br /> I pointed out the ugly streaks in my driveway, and he said he's told them not to dump the water saw in a driveway. Then he sighed again and said, and quot;I suppose I could have them come out and pressure wash it for you ....and quot; then he looked at me with an expression that said he really didn't want to do that either. So I said forget it. <br /> I should think that the owner of a reputable business would not wait for a customer to REQUEST him to fix a bad job, but would simply jump in and get it fixed. I gave him a chance to do something about it before I did this writeup, and I felt like he mostly blew me off. Sorry, but that was the feeling i got. <br /> I'm sad to report I would seek out some other tile installer if I ever had a similar job to do in the future."

"My wife and I wanted new hard woods in our house but had very specific requirements that we could not typically find locally.  My wife wanted a dark floor while I wanted extreme durability in a natural hard wood.  We did our homework and decided that Brazilian Walnut (Ipe) most closely matched what we wanted.  <br /> After looking locally for something that fit the bill, the flooring we found was either over $12 sq/ft (too expensive) or not dark enough.  I started searching on-line and ran across Brazilian Direct.  Their prices seemed reasonable (a bit over $6 sq/ft for what we wanted) and they even had a tinted (dark) version of the floor we liked. <br /> After several weeks of questions and further research, we decided to place an order.  We we worked with a representative named Sannon who helped us every step of the way.  She sent us samples, instructions, guides - everything to make us more comfortable about our eventual order.  Our order came right on schedule and the wood was really beautiful.  After several weeks of the required acclimation we had a local installer put the floor down.  They did an excellent job and we really love our floor.  There was very little waste and in fact we had at least 3 boxes left over. <br /> I highly recommend Brazilian Direct.  We are considering using them again for a deck project we'd like to do in the future. <br />"

"Removed Glass Shower Doors, tore out base of shower and about 24 inches up.  Rebuilt base of shower with brick and concrete and retiled over brick base   and up wall while water proofing everything.  Looks better now than it did than when it did when it did when it was first built.  This guy is a real professional with tile but he is usually very busy so you will have to scheule him  3  or 4 weeks ahead of time to get him but he will be worth the wait."

"I have used several Granite Gold products and like their effectiveness because they do what they are supposed to do. No strong fumes or irritating skin problems. The granite counter top daily cleaner and polish are so easy to use (spay it on and wipe with a paper towel) to keep all your stone products clean and shiny. I was surprised to see how effective the grout cleaner is. I sprayed it on some dirty tire floors in the bathroom and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Then I went over it with the scrub brush they provide. It looked clean then, but when it dried, it was much brighter. This is a 40 Year old bathroom tile floor pictured. Granite Gold also provides excellent professional support."

"We got 3 estimates on our remodel and chose Kalos because we felt Mr. Sid instilled confidence in us regarding his ability to do this renovation in a professional and timely manner. He came to our home, gave us an estimate on the cost and time required to finish the project. They started when he said they would and finished in the estimated time period. He and his workers were on the job every day when they were scheduled, without fail, and were extremely professional at all times. His workers were courteous, respectful, quiet, and never, ever used fowl language. They never raised their voices and did not play loud music. He and his workers were always considerate of your home life and your schedule. They were respectful of your property and cleaned the job site on a regular basis. When they finished the job, all debris was removed and our property cleaned The entire renovation was an overall pleasant experience (excluding the dust) and looks like it has been a part of the house forever. Mr. Sid wrote up a detailed contract and we paid in 3 installments. The final payment being when they were completely finished and we were satisfied with the entire project. Our experience with Kalos Inc. was so positive we are planning a kitchen renovation for the near future."

"They were very professional, helpful and responsive in answering questions and giving us a quote. In the end, we decided not to repair the countertop and sink but replace it entirely. as the previous owner installed it and it no longer fit our decor. Even though we didn't use them to make the repairs, we were very impressed with their customer service."

"The process took about a year from start to finish. We started with painting the exterior (including the garage) and replaced gutters. Interior work included painting throughout including cabinets and closets, new flooring throughout (pulled up old carpet), replaced faucets (bathrooms and kitchen), installed quartz countertop and brick/glass backsplash, replaced all light fixtures, door knobs, cabinet door pulls, installed four ceiling fans, new toliets and an over the range microwave, replaced all light switches, vent plates, and plugs. Also hauled away old stuff. <br /> Of course there were a few snares along the way as is to be expected with a project as big as ours. I could have used a little more advice on the backsplash. We had to reorder glass twice because the vendor did not meet with me on the layout prior to ordering and it wasn't enough. Also I didn't like how the glass was installed below the kitchen window. The wood facing should have been removed for a smoother finish. Also the backsplash was not installed behind the range and I didn't like that. In both instances I thought the installer should have advised me before installation. So he had to make two return trips that resulted in extra charges that I believe could have been avoided. There was also a problem with installing the bathroom faucets. It was no fault of Timber Creek but it did result in a delay in finishing the project due to waiting for parts from the vendor. Tim went above and beyond to make sure we were pleased in spite of obvious frustrations. <br /> Overall the project went very well. I love the results. It's like I have a newly built home. <br />"
