"Benjamin and Mario first restretched our carpeting in May.  It continued to be loose in several areas so we called them to return and fix the problems.  They were very professional and thorough.  They restretched the carpeting and we are now very happy with the job they did. <br />"

"We are very pleased we chose the The Floor Store to help us select new flooring and have it installed. We worked with Bill Cunningham to choose carpet and vinyl flooring materials that we are very satisfied with. The installation crews for both the hard floor and the carpet were incredibly professional and highly skilled. They arrived as scheduled, worked consistently throughout the day(s) and completed the work when expected. Between the new flooring and new baseboards, our house feels refreshed and contemporary. This was a great investment in our home and we're so glad we made it."

"Just had Coretec Luxury Vinyl Planks put into 4 rooms. Joe came out the same day I called to give an estimate. We took samples home, and we were able to decide quickly. Two weeks later, they did the instillation in 2 days with an experienced and highly efficient crew. I highly recommend them for any flooring needs. Misael is one of their best installers."

"Andrey was my project coordinator and did a fantastic job with the design.  Anatoliy was the installer and also did a fantastic job.  All floors were thin set under backer board to ensure a perfectly level subfloor and each tile was meticulously put in place with an amazing finished product.  I have built houses in the past and have not been impressed with my tile work but this time I am sold on 5 Star for the next project.  The only con's for 5 Star was cost and time to install but those are both directly related to the quality of the finished product and based on what I got I'll happily pay a bit more and wait a bit longer for their work. <br /> <br />"

"Excellent work! Quality was amazing. A lot of attention to detail from Rodrigo and his workers when removing the old HVAC system and installing the new one. Received professional advice throughout the whole process and was always informed on changes. Very mindful of my questions and concerns. Rodrigo went above and beyond to meet the agreed timeline without compromising quality of work."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in El Paso, TX

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
