"I think they fertilized the weeds instead of killing them off! They are coming out to re-treat the lawn and try to make it right."

"They chemically treat our lawn & fertilize it. We are very fussy and have gone through many but have used them for at least 20 years. They are outstanding. Very reliable and owner is very nice. They call in advance to let you know when they are coming and always leave a note of what they did with instructions as to water or not water. We have been using them for years and won't change even though we were asked by others."

"Very happy with service. There were a couple of minor issues after the initial visit. I called and the company followed up quickly and resolved them. The technician was polite, friendly and knowledgeable. I would use Pacific Lawn care again."

"Manny from Right Lawn Care (and his assistant) did an excellent job clearing my jungle of a backyard that was overgrown with weeds, ivy, and tree branches. They were efficient, professional, friendly, and fast. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs yard work done."

"Ken came over, made a professional evaluation. Tree by tree he notated what needed to be done. He then gave me a rate for the entire day. Everything was covered under one charge. The day of, the men showed up on schedule, they removed all the vines from my house, the fences and gave ten or so trees a long overdue haircut. They even trimmed one of my neighbor's trees that had been growing over my driveway and onto the power lines. The were professional knowledgable and thorough. I was very pleased and would definitely use them again"

"The install was flawless. Dowd Irrigation & Landscaping filed all permits and handled every aspect of the installation in a professional manner. I liked Pat's attention to detail in how he drafted up a game plan during his estimate and made valuable recommendations to compliment his work. Pat is a true professional who takes his work and every project very seriously. After the system was installed, Pat provided a tutorial and reviewed watering guidelines and recommendations and followed up as necessary if I had any questions. The system worked hard all summer long and kept our grass green. The placement of the sprinkler heads was perfect. The team took into account the coverage area and did not miss any corners or tight places. We are more than happy with our investment in a sprinkler system, and we cannot thank Pat enough for helping us protect our landscaping through a well thought out irrigation plan."

"<strong>The initial consultation</strong>. The person was on time, and seemed very knowledgeable. I think he is actually an arbor-ist (not sure what the correct term is). Some of his recommendations were different from other professionals we met with, but I suppose there is more than one "right" way to do things. We'll see how our trees look next spring! <br /> <strong>The quote</strong>. A bit more expensive than the other 2 quotes we received, but not out of line. They were all pretty close. The differences were that (1) both of the other companies said they'd "throw in" pruning some other shrubs and trees whereas Almstead did not. But what I really liked about their quote was that it was all itemized. The others were a lump sum, so I had to ask how much we would save if we didn't do one of the items. Almstead's quote was very clear and made it easy to decide what to do or not do. The quote was not negotiable, no coupons or discounts for Angies List members, or first time customers. . <br /> <strong>The job</strong>. 3 men showed up at 8:25 on the appointed day. They were organized as to how they approached and divided up the work. The trees looked beautiful when they were finished. To my uneducated eyes, I think the Pear trees were shaped and thinned really nicely. The men all seemed knowledgeable about how to selectively prune (rather than butcher) various types of trees. <br /> Cleanup was good, could have been a little bit better. And a little more care could have been taken with not damaging the garden. But I realize that they did have a large amount of pruning to do in a very small area. <br /> One thing that was somewhat frustrating is that there was a misunderstanding about whether one small tree was included in the price, so they weren't going to do it. I showed them the quote (it was included) so they did it, which took all of 5 minutes. Then after questioning whether the one small tree was included in the $2000 job (rather than just going ahead and doing it), they then spent 45 minutes working on a neighbor's shrub for twenty bucks! <br /> <strong>Follow Up & Responsiveness.</strong> Excellent. Someone from the company called to see how the job went. And I left a msg for the arbor-ist and we set up an appt to review the work. (Again, he arrived right on time). He addressed my concerns and answered my questions. And someone from their office called me subsequently to let me know that what we discussed was taken care of. <br /> <em>Minor quibbles aside, I think they did an excellent job, were professional, knowledgeable and easy to work with. I would definitely use them again.</em> <br /> <br /> <br />"

"They were very accommodating and it was a good experience. At one point, they missed a portion of the lawn that is separated with a retaining wall by accident. When I brought it to their attention, they not only resolved the problem, but they gave me an additional full lawn application. I plan to use them again this year."
