"Tim and his helper were excellent. Tim came to give quote within a couple of days. Showed up when they said they would. Did a heavy duty seal coat on long asphalt driveway, repaired a spot on a walkway, and built a low curb for me (to direct rainwater runoff). They did a great job on everything, down to taping off some pavers on one side so they wouldn't get sealer on them. Gave clear instructions for eventual sealing of curb and repair area (new asphalt needs to cure), and left some materials for me for a small area I wanted to do later (after I moved some pavers). Professional and quality work. Everything was done well."

"When we first called them the salesman came out and was extremely professional. He did a walk-through and all the measuring for us. We were just trying to get quotes and wanted to wait to do it in the spring, but the fellow who came was very courteous and did everything pretty good with giving us the quote. Me and my wife talked it over and called him back and the very next day they started on it and had the whole entire thing done in one day. There's one little spot I think they didn't put enough stuff down and I noticed it when I was washing it. I looked at it an angle and could kind of tell along a retainer wall. When I mentioned it to him he said if they were to add a few more shovel loads and pack it down it would almost look like a patch and the way it is now it all looks uniformed and like one good solid thing of asphalt. We were going to originally get concrete, but the guy said it would cost double and be around $7,000 to have it done. It actually looks good and goes from the back gate all the way to the back of the garage and then there's another part. We told him we may call him in the spring to do the front of the house. He also told me to keep an eye on that spot and that it has a one year warranty on it, but even though that happened overall we're happy with it."

"Have not contracted yet for the work as we're waiting on some other budgetary items to be worked on. We will have the work done, just a matter of time and $$. Very happy with the quote Jay gave us and really appreciate his time."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Elizabethtown, KY

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
