"From the first meeting, we really immediately felt he was focused on learning what we wanted from this project. A week later he showed sketches that demonstrated his understanding of what we wanted -- they were amazing!Michael was always professional, enthusiastic and understanding. He never argued, but instead immediately got behind our new thoughts and integrated them into the design. It was a more like us all working on a team than him simply being someone providing a professional service. His design sense is amazing. His design details and thoughts helped us see our house in an entirely new way. He has an easy comfort with designing for the dramatic and for the simple. When done, he presented a set of design documents that were more detailed than most house plans -- nothing was left to chance. When a question or problem came up during the project, he was always there for us, often showing up within minutes of the call. We could not have been happier with the outcome."

"We just completed installing a motorized retractable awning from [*** Link removed ***] and are super pleased with the quality of the build, appearance and customer support.? This Italian-designed, engineered and manufactured awning is assembled and shipped from RetractableAwnings.com Florida plant, so if you need assistance with the install, you should contact a local handyman, carpenter or contractor.? Ours is a Palermo Plus, 16 ft. wide, with an 11 ft.-10 in. projection.? The Internet salesperson, Eric Scop, V.P., really worked with us to understand all the options and get fabric swatches.? We ultimately selected a combination Rain/Sun sensor and Vibration sensor to automatically retract the awning in case of heavy rain or excessive wind.? I spoke with Rocky, their installation expert, for advice on preparing the ledger board to attach the awning to our vinyl sided home, right below the soffit.? His advice was instrumental in making the install go so well.? Further, the awning arrived already programmed to the Soliris transmitter and the motor limit switches were also set.? It shipped in a fiberboard box (this one was about 17 ft long and 1 ft x 1 ft square, weighing over 200 lbs.), which was extremely tough.? The truck driver ignored the box orientation stickers and used a hand truck to move it from the center, rather than two hand trucks, one at each end, per the clear placarding on the box.? Despite this, it arrived in great shape, other than a couple minor paint scratches, which we will fix with touchup paint they are sending at no charge.? While the enclosed wall brackets were different from those described in the installation manual (an improved design), installing them was no problem. An extra bracket was included, which we also installed as this will be a large ?sail? on the side of the house and we want it to stay there. We extend our sincere thanks to the team at RetractableAwnings.com, and for those review sites that accept photographs, we include the following photo."

"We replaced an existing wood deck with composite and it looks absolutely gorgeous-we have received numerous compliments on it and we have spent all summer on it!!! During the install of our deck, we learned Renewit also provides floor refinishing, which we have been meaning to have done, but have been putting off for one reason or another-we decided to go ahead and have our living room refinished. It turned out absolutely stunning and wish we would have done it sooner! Can't say enough good things about the services provided to us-the Renewit crew was dependable, professional and exceeded our expectations with the work they provided. Highly recommend! <br /> <br /> <br />"

"This took several months for Corbin and Ryan to restore our home. Their wonderful work and attention to detail has been wonderful. Corbin has also done several jobs for us at our home over many years, and he has always done a wonderful job. We can always trust that his job will go above and beyond ordinary expectations, and every attention to even the minutest detail. Our family would like to highly recommend Corbin and his company to anyone that would like to consider using them. They are outstanding. In addition to restoration, they also do remodeling and home building. They have built some of our neighbors' homes, and they were equally thrilled with Corbin's work! <br />"

"Kristi and her husband are very personable, friendly and reliable.  They are the kind of people you are comfortable with in your home, whether you are there or not.  They are prompt and reliable and I wish they lived closer because there are so many jobs I'd have them helping me with right now!  I can, in good faith based on lots of experience, highly recommend them as contractors who can be trusted in Northern MI - which is saying a lot! <br />"

"The deck job went very well. Scott quoted a price for labor only and I estimated and purchased the material. He and his crew came to work when he promised, completed the work on time and within the quoted price, and cleaned the job site very thorughly. I had previously hired Scott to repair part of our roof and found his craftsmanship to be first rate."

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Elk Rapids, MI

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
