"Stacy was very helpful in helping me to select the right flooring for my new home.  I had short deadline to get the flooring installed before I moved in.  Stacy worked with the installers to get me squeezed into the schedule before the holidays.  I had a different contractor help with removing the flooring, preparing the subfloors, and removing trim because it was cheaper than having the Carpet Shoppe installers do this.  I gave the store the key to my house and the different installers came in over a weeks time.  Someone from the store came out a couple weeks before and measured the areas for the installation.  When Stacy received the measurements she prepared a quote.  The wood was delivered the weekend before the installation began so that it could acclimate.  Installation times:  3 days for the hardwood in living, dining, and upstairs and downstairs hallways. 1.5 days for tile in a small bathroom (1 day to set tile and allow to dry, 1 partial day for grout), and 1 day for carpet installed in 4 rooms.  My floors look great, and the work is quality.  They are a little more expensive, but the quality of the product and installation is well worth it.  A very smooth process and I am pleased overall.  I will call them again when I am ready for my kitchen to be tiled."

"We had a GREAT experience with the carpet center outlet. Salesman knew their stuff. Its locally owned and operated....so we got to speak with the owner. We had 4500 square feet of floor space that needed covered (for our new home) so we did our research! The Carpet Center has GREAT prices! They are a smaller company (but thats a good thing) b/c we figured overhead is low...we got AMAZING prices! But even though their small they still had all the stuff we were looking for (natural hickory wide plank, glass tile, sculptured carpet, etc, etc)....Rick was very knowledgeable and had great suggestions and was extremely helpful. The product choice was great. The installation was good too. The installers were in and out in the specified time. They were courteous too. <br /> Overall, we are very pleased with our experience and know where we'll be headed the next time we need flooring. One thing worth mentioning is that they are harder to find. They are actually located behind the carwash (on Seminole). So you have to know what your looking for....but in our experience....they were worth finding:) If you need flooring.....go find The Carpet Center!! <br />"

"We have never had our carpet cleaned so well or so efficiently!! We are (were!) planning to replace our carpet in the next few months but wanted it to be fresh before holiday company arrives.  We never expected the results we got!  Our carpet almost looks like new again!  They removed old spots, fluffed up beat down areas and just generally did an amazing job! <br /> The two gentlemen showed up right on time. They were friendly, efficient and it was very obvious they were concerned with pleasing us and doing a good job. They accomplished that all around! <br /> We have already recommended this company and will do so again.  We will absolutely use them again as needed! <br /> <br /> <br />"

"It went fine. The problem we had was not theirs. We have a different type of fiber that is not easily cleaned and for what they did, they did a good job under those circumstances. I did not expect the carpet to get stained as it did but the color of it was not a good carpet to put in the house. They came in and did what they said they will do in a timely fashion and did a good job."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Elkland, MO

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
