"J & B was one of four companies from whom I obtained estimates. They had the lowest bid, but that wasn't why I chose them. Keith (the owner) came out and looked at my existing roof to do an initial assessment. I felt like he really listened to my concerns and he didn't talk "down" to me or over my head even though my knowledge in the area of roofing is minimal, at best. It was obvious that he's passionate about doing a good job for his customers and making sure they're happy with the work that's done. The crew he sent out had the roof completed within 48 hours of starting and they kept everything neat and clean in the process. They were polite, professional, and on time. Here are some of the reasons I chose J & B over the other companies from which I received estimates : 1. J & B is a locally owned, family owned, business that presented itself during the entire process as a company that cares more about customer satisfaction than they do about their bottom line. 2. They don't pay for a separate line of salesmen or fancy matching trucks with company logos or tablets or the latest and greatest in cell phones, so they don't have the overhead that a lot of roofing companies have, which is probably why their bid was so much lower than the others. 3. They use local products. The shingles they use are from Tamko, which is based out of Joplin, MO. Tamko doesn't just SELL roofing supplies locally; they own and operate several raw materials plants, so they have more control over the manufacturing process. Tamko had a color and style selector tool on their website ([*** Link removed ***] where I was able to upload a photo of my home so I could see how each shingle color would look before making a final decision. Keith also brought several samples out so I could see them "in real life" to make sure I liked the way the color complemented my house. The warranty with the Tamko product was no less attractive than that with the Certainteed and Owens Corning products, which were presented to me in other bids. 4. Based on my first visit with Keith, I could tell he was involved in his community, that he was a family man, and that he genuinely took an interest in and cared about other people. It was also obvious that he KNEW roofing and was confident in his knowledge. 5. They offer a maintenance package after the work is complete to come out and clean your gutters. It's nice to know it will be taken care of and I'll have one less thing to worry about. Basically, I got several estimates and then went with my gut feeling, which is generally spot-on. I wasn't disappointed. They did everything they said they would and cleaned up when they were finished. They tore off two layers of shingles, replaced some bad decking, cut vents into the soffit (the builder failed to put soffit venting on the front side of my house when it was built) and replaced the guttering that had to be taken down in the process, and added turbine and box vents to properly vent the attic (when the house was built, there was NO attic venting added). They even volunteered to paint all the existing pipes on the roof so they'd look as good as new with the new roof and trimmed up a tree that was close to the house and hauled it off. I waited two months to write my review to make sure I was just as happy with the work as I was the day they finished. If I had to do it again, I'd choose J & B. (Before photo was taken in June when I first began researching companies. After photo was taken on 11/30/2016, 2 months after the work was complete so the yard isn't nearly as green.)"

"I called Dale's roofing (they were listed as sun tunnel installers) to inspect the problem. It took about 2 weeks for them to come out to assess the problem and about another week to receive a report. I got a contract to repair the leaking area. After returning the contract it took about another week or so to get the job done. Three + weeks later the roof leaked again in the same area. I called Dale's roofing and then I was told that for another $80 they would add something. I asked why would there be another charge because they inspected the situation and said it would be fixed for $375 and now they wanted more after I paid the bill. I was then told that it would be fixed again at no charge, but they would email a report with pictures about a bigger problem. I never received an email (or pictures) but I did receive an estimate for an entire new roof. Dale's roofing did fix the roof and for now it hasn't leaked again."

Roof Cleaning Process - Eco Friendly \nElite Roof Cleaners., Missouri's foremost expert on proper shingle cleaning techniques, is here to rid the “Black Streaking” from your roof. Inaccurately identified as “roof mold,” these blue-green algae appear on roughly 80% of all homes in Missouri and may reduce your home’s curb appeal and also its overall value. Don’t replace your roof, we’ll clean it. In fact, an estimated 50% of all new residential roofs are installed not because they are leaking or worn out – but for aesthetic reasons only. \nIt is very important to have the utmost confidence when hiring a qualified roof cleaning contractor. The experts at Roof Cleaning Missouri/Kansas use the algae removal methods recommended by the Roof Cleaning Institute of America (RCIA). We also adhere to the “Soft Wash” roof cleaning process approved by the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA). We never use pressure washing equipment which would harm your shingles. Our algae eliminating chemicals do all of the work to remove the “Streaking” and discoloration from your roof and requires NO pressure washing or heavy rinsing. Leaving the chemicals on the roof creates a hostile environment for future algae growth. Each time it rains, a small amount of chemical is reactivated to give your roof a secondary cleaning and aids in disinfecting the mold and mildew embedded in the shingles even further. Your roof benefits with a longer lasting cleaning and overall appearance. \n \nEnvironmentally Friendly \n \nAt Roof Cleaning Missouri we take special pride in keeping your home and property environmentally safe and secure. We follow the proper roof cleaning chemical standards set by the Asphalt Roof Manufacturers Association. Our cleaning chemicals are as safe as what you put down your household drains. \n \nWhat You Should Know \nRoof Washing is a completely different trade from pressure washing requiring different pumps, hoses, nozzles, chemicals, caution, knowledge, experience, skill, and insurance. \nPressure washing (power washing) is not recommended because it will remove a large amount of the ceramic coated granules from your shingles, which will void the warranty. Even low pressure will cause granule loss and shorten the life of your shingles. If you have ever cleaned your gutters you will notice granules in them just from the rainfall. Think what any additional pressure would do to your roof! \nThe price of cleaning your roof is approximately 1/10 of its overall replacement cost. \n \nRemember, \n“Roof cleaning does'nt cost "It Pays".

FAQs for roof cleaning service projects in Elkland, MO

To find a reputable ice dam removal company, check verified customer reviews and ensure they have the proper credentials. Look at online testimonials and consult reputable agencies like the Better Business Bureau to validate their service record. Contact the company to ask about their experience, hourly rates, and safety practices. This helps ensure you're hiring a pro with proven expertise and a solid track record to protect your home from ice dam damage.

Ice dams can cause extensive damage that jeopardizes your entire roof structure. They can lead to issues like attic condensation, broken roof sheathing, persistent leaks, visible wall water stains, mold in your attic insulation, sagging drywall, rotting attic framing, and roof collapse. This damage compromises your home's integrity and requires immediate professional attention to ensure proper repair and safety.

Most insurance policies don’t include coverage for the removal of ice dams since it's considered preventive maintenance. However, damage caused by ice dams—such as roof collapse, extensive water damage, or structural failures—may be covered by your policy. It's a good idea to contact your insurance provider to understand your coverage.

Removing snow from your roof can help prevent ice dams. Use a proper roof rake from the ground or a safe ladder—never climb onto an icy roof. Also, consider addressing any inadequate attic insulation that may cause heat leakage. Promptly clearing snow minimizes risks and helps maintain a safe, durable roof.
