The cherry tree ended up being too dangerous to climb so it was stump cut and placed in such a way that nothing was damaged in the effort. "I called Jimmy and we scheduled to meet to get a quote for removing 2 decent size maple trees, stump grinding, removing the dead wood and trimming 3 very large trees on our property. "Getting an estimate and scheduling with A Better Tree was more of a fluid process than I'm accustomed to. There was some rescheduling and talk of shooting for certain weeks with a call a day or two ahead of time. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, just something everyone should be aware of, as some might not be comfortable or able to accommodate this type of arrangement.

The estimate with Dale went well and I appreciated his honest and straightforward approach to doing business. We discussed which items needed to be addressed, those that could wait but would need to be taken care of in the coming years, and those, which could be left alone. After agreeing on which items I would like to be considered, he wrote up an estimate. It wasn't the lowest I received but it was far from the highest. I ultimately went with A Better Tree based on price, comfort of doing business with Dale during the estimate, and his method of climbing trees rather than brining in a truck with bucket.

As I mentioned, scheduling of the work was more fluid than some people might be accustomed to. Thankfully I had enough flexibility to consider their approach, but I'm sure there are others who need something more ridged and concrete. Dale and his crew arrived in the morning and promptly got to work. They worked quickly and efficiently with Dale climbing, roping, and cutting, and the others lowering and removing debris.

I was very pleased with the quality of their work and the value I received. Furthermore, I had multiple neighbors inquire about A Better Tree after seeing the results and learning the cost for services was much more reasonable than they expected or, in some cases, had paid a different company in the past.

Although I have since moved, I have recommended them to several friends and would have no hesitation using A Better Tree again, if I returned to central Indiana.

"The work went perfectly.  The two large sweet gums (that had died) were removed, and cut off at ground level so I could mow over.
Dead branches were removed from five (5) trees.  The crew manager had me inspect each tree to be sure the work on each tree met my satisfaction before moving on to next tree.
The crew raked up all the small limb debris and left my yard looking as if they had not even been there. 
The price was reasonable, and I plan to use them again next spring to remove a pin oak that is dying, and also some limb trimming (if needed from over the winter).

"Len and Katrina came out and shaped up the tree and cut down a large burning bush, and hauled it all away. Also had Len cut off a large limb that was hanging over the house. This was $150 extra, but thought it was worth it considering the size of the limb and work involved."

"Excellent. Joe came to give us a quote the same day I called. The job was done two days later. He and his assistant, Saul, cleaned up all the debris and chipped/hauled away all their trimmings. Joe was so great about me being there beside him the entire time, telling him which branches to cut, and which to leave. I love my trees, and am very particular about who works on them. Joe has a great eye, and the trees looked terrific afterwards. He even did an impromptu trim job on a small crabapple for my neighbor who walked out to talk to him while they were working. The trimming on our daughter's tree came about the same way. They did such a great job on our ash tree that I took them down the block, and they trimmed up the linden. It looks beautiful, and now our son-in-law won't get smacked in the face when he cuts the grass!"
