"Jesse does great work, is polite and a real professional. He came out reviewed the project requirements and worked closely with the other contractors to provide us the perfect elevation to our deck and fire pit areas, as well as the foundation for the outdoor kitchen. The end result is a beautiful stamped concrete sitting and walking area that blends seamlessly with our deck and stone walls for the kitchen area and the stoned fire pit and sitting wall there. This planning and detailed review was critically important as there was little room for variation between the level he set with the concrete and the height of our deck down to our one wrap around step. We also had to deal with the slight, but important 3 inch slope with our back yard and make the concrete level for the deck and not too obtrusive in the back yard. All this while ensuring sufficient drainage not to cause issues there. It couldn't have worked out better! These guys are very hard workers and make sure that their efforts are going to meet your expectations."

"Concrete Evolutions has expanded beyond installing concrete. The crew repaired our existing irrigation system and installed three new zones to accommodate new landscaping. They designed and prepared beds for new plants on three sides of our house. This involved amending the soil and adding tons of rock and mulch. They also laid down grass in our backyard and made a "Breeze" (crushed rock) patio. As we continue to purchase plants to go in the new beds, they will be back to plant them digging the holes and connecting the plants to the already installed irrigation system. The crew was always pleasant and offered suggestions as together we worked on this project. They made a point to check in with us periodically to make sure we were satisfied. Thank you Concrete Evolutions."

"Jay did a great job on our projects which were a large concrete patio, a large concrete platform for a garden shed, and a small platform for garbage cans. He had good suggestions about handling the slope of our back and side yards. He and his crew were always punctual in showing up. The crew worked hard and did a great job. After we get our garden shed set up, we want them back to put in a concrete walkway from the driveway, through the gate, and to the backyard. I would highly recommend using them. We thought their prices were very reasonable."

"I can't say enough good things about Mr. Gerald Dillmann & his crew. I can attest is the very best Concrete Company in the greater front range areaa of Colorado. From start to finish, he and his crew did a FANTASTIC job. Gerald even redesigned my roof drain pipe to go under the newly formed concrete walkway to avoid future concrete erosion. Since Gerald really want to get his crew working after the holidays, I received an outstanding price for this project. All of crew worked hard to quickly complete the project. Addtionally, Gerald even disposed of 2 broken/old office chairs & some other junk I wanted to hall to the junk yard. That saved me money that I might of had to pay to 1-800-GOT-JUNK. If Angi's survey included a 6th star, Dillmann's Concrete Service would qualify for such a rating. I'm dead serious here - If you want the absolute best concrete contractor (Any size project) in our greater front range area (Colorado), Call Gerald Dillmann at 970-566-2777. Tell him "Ross LIndberg" was your reference. CALL NOW!!!"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Estes Park, CO

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
