"Smoothly. Chris and Dale were the technicians performing the work starting at 0830. They called at 0810 and said they were stuck in traffic and would be delayed. They still arrived on time and ready to work. I showed them where the item that was to be installed was located and explained to them the problems I was having with the light switches in the kitchen were not working properly. In short order they identified the problem with the switches and replaced the improperly used switches in no time and the switches were working properly again. With the ceiling fan in the kitchen they removed the old fan and placed the old parts in a box, installed and tested the new ceiling fan taking great care to ensure that everything was working and installed properly. I have never seen someone devote that much care and attention to detail when installing a ceiling fan. Call A & H Electric Company LLC when you have any job that needs doing. They are prompt, courteous, professional as well as being capable and friendly. You'll be glad you did. Thanks guys!"

"Kel was very professional, quick and friendly. I wish I would have contacted Angie's list in the 1st place. I appreciated how he explained listened and understood the importance of my repair."

"They certainly were timely and courteous but they've had to come back twice to troubleshoot their work on our Ethernet cable. We didn't want to run a line from the model to the downstairs computer through 3 rooms so hired them to install it under the crawlspace and install a new outlet. It didn't work the first time so the cable was switched out and we're still back at square one. I will say though, they seem to know what they're doing even if my project isn't going smoothly. They're troubleshooting and trying to figure out the problem step by step. Also I needed a ceiling fan and ceiling light switch and they had it swapped out and fixed in less than an hour. They certainly doesn't know about electricity."

"Mr. Bailey was absolutely amazing. I have an older house and even simple projects become complicated fast. Mr. Bailey visited my home three different times and every time was a great experience for me. He showed up on time, every time. He was very easy to contact and he kept me informed of what was going on at every step of the job. He was incredibly professional even when my old house threw curveballs at him. I am so impressed with all of the work he did for me and my spouse and I will absolutely recommend him and hire him again if/when we need more electrical work done. Mr. Bailey is a joy to work with and he truly cares about his work. I can’t say enough about how much I appreciate him and his dedication to figuring out the puzzle of my house and making sure me and my family are safe in our home."

Small jobs welcome

"All went well. Chris the installer was prompt, polite and kept the work areas clean. A nice option from Southern Company is they will give you a quote before starting any work. The quote was $75 but included in final price if you accepted the offer. I would use their services again.

"I needed two extra outlets installed in my living room, I decided to use home advisor to search for a good electrician to install these, also needed someone to run some power to a yard shed. Southeastern electrical specialists got in touch with me within ten minutes. They came out and gave me an estimate for the job which I thought was fair. They came out the following day, the towers turned out to be around 8 inch thick a challenge for anyone to install outlets, sheet rock would have been much easier for the guys but they persevered and completed the job, they dug a ditch and run power to my shed after that. They were on time called to give me an ETA, very polite professional and most I importantly to me did not cut any corners, shabby work will come back to haunt you with electrical work, Ben even pointed out a couple of things to enlighten me on my main breaker box, whoever did the electrical work crammed wires back there very messy like, and showed me an example of how it should look at one of his recent jobs. Once again you get what you pay for this company is fair and reasonable if you want your local handyman to come and do the job for fifty dollars and a case of bud lite and three months later your house is burnt to the ground then you may have some regrets. But these guys will do it right, I would not hesitate to use them again for any electrical work. The other gentleman who worked with Ben Al was hard working and professional in all he did also. They are licensed in Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee."

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Evans, GA

Yes, a licensed electrician is essential for this project. Running an electrical service from the road to your house involves connecting to utility power lines, complying with national and local electrical codes, and safely handling high-voltage systems.

Licensed professionals understand proper wire sizing, grounding requirements, and voltage drop calculations needed for safe installation. Most jurisdictions require permits and inspections that only certified professionals can obtain. The safety risks and potential for property damage make this project inappropriate for DIY attempts.

Overhead installations are less expensive than underground options. For a 1000-foot run, overhead service costs between $8,000 and $15,000, while underground service ranges from $10,000 to $25,000.

Overhead lines require less labor and fewer materials since they don't need trenching or conduit. However, underground lines offer better protection from weather events and aesthetic benefits. Your decision should balance your budget constraints with long-term reliability and visual preferences.

You might need to upgrade your electrical panel depending on your power requirements. If your existing panel cannot handle the additional load from the extended service, upgrading to a 200-amp service (costing $750 to $2,000) may be necessary.

A licensed electrician can evaluate your current system and determine if an upgrade is required. Factors include what you'll be powering at the end of the line, existing electrical demand, and whether voltage drop over the distance will affect performance.

Running electric service from the road to a house requires electrical permits from your local building department, costing between $500 and $2,000 depending on your location. You may also need excavation permits for trenching work if installing an underground service. Your utility company will have its own application process for connecting to its grid. A licensed electrical contractor can handle all the necessary permit applications as part of their service, ensuring your installation meets all local code requirements.
