"We have a rental near home in Two Harbors. We have a renter coming in on Monday ? this is Friday. The bathroom sink and tub drains were draining very slowly-or not at all. We did what we could but they were still draining slowly. I looked at Angies list reviews and decided to call Midway. They came out within an hour and apparently did a great job. I'm not sure if $146 is a great price or not ? we have never had this done before. But they came right out and got the job done ? what else can we ask for? Thanks, Angie's list! <br />"

"Working with Jon was a dream. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. He was communicative, respectful, kind, fair, worked hard and fast and made the drawings of my dream art studio come to life. If you can snag him for your project, thank your lucky stars. I did."

"It went very well. After a bit of a wait, I received a very comprehensive report of 88 specific items as well as bacteria, fungi and particles. Each Item detected over the EPA drinking water limits had an explanation sheet. Also provided was a contact person at the company to address any questions you had about the report findings. I thought the service was well worth the $300 just for the peace of mind. I intend to use the company on an annual basis going forward."

"Upon moving to Duluth in 2015, Summit has done about $20,000 of work for me. They do excellent work and all of their team are courteous, expert craftsmen. I was grateful to have such a reliable resource like Summit to call whenever I needed plumbing services. But then something changed. They over-billed me on the last job so I contested it. I have called several times to discuss the error, and though the office staff are good listeners, they cannot help me beyond saying they will have Warren or Jamon call me to discuss the invoice. After several calls, over several months, no one has yet returned my calls. I am concerned that this unpaid bill could affect my credit score, but I believe a $500 error is worth disputing. I regret to have to register this bad review because all of Summit's work has been excellent. I hope they will help me settle this dispute so I can give them the A rating that they deserve."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Eveleth, MN

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
