The tech presumably cleaned our chimney and suggested $3000 worth of work we should have done to our chimney. Right after our first fire, the entire house smelled of burning wood for days. We used a creosote log to clear the smell, which it partially did. The next time we used our fireplace, the smell lasted for a week. We contacted Dr. Sweep and the tech who cleaned our chimney, Randy, responded that such smell can happen and listed potential causes, none of which were applicable. After I responded with that explanation, the tech suggested that we switch to a gas fireplace. I then went back to Angi and found another company, CJW Chimney, that just completed to clean our chimney. They said that it had not been properly cleaned and that there were items such as leaves still on the shelf inside the chimney. I will never use Dr. Sweep again!"
