"From the moment we sent an inquiry to California Custom Pools, our new pool experience was nothing short of remarkable. We received a response quickly and soon had an in home consultation scheduled with Austin Fowlkes. Austin helped us sketch out of vision for a pool in our backyard, noting several pros and cons and things to consider as we planned something to fit our needs and our kids (9 and 12) wants. Within a few days, Austin had some incredible renderings of the concept and we worked together with him and Danny to refine the final design while we negotiated the terms of the contract. We were shocked that a pool could be built in just six weeks, and figured since it was mid-June we would test out that schedule. Austin took care of submitting plans to the city while we continued working with the design team at their showroom just up the freeway in Temecula to pick out selections for the coping, accent wall and water line tile as well as the pebble finish. While there was more back and forth in the permitting process than we expected, we were able to get our permit and start construction in early August. We met George, the licensed contractor, and he walked us over the schedule. We were still in amazement a full sized pool and spa could be built in such a short timeframe but any doubts were erased when the grading subcontractor excavated the entire pool in just 1.5 days. While there was some cosmetic damage due to the back and forth of the excavator, the speed of the work and the ultimate fixes that were performed more than made up for the temporary inconveniences. A few days later, the rebar was installed, piping was complete and shotcrete was applied (which took a few days to cure). From there, it was on to the detailed tile work and some custom concrete pads to finish the overall aesthetics. A minor electrical glitch wasn’t enough to slow down progress and we started filling the pool around September 11th and were enjoying it just a week later. Unbelievable! On time, good communication, great experience and suggestions to make the project better as it was being constructed, and on budget. We love the way it turned out and can’t wait to use it for years to come. Thanks to Austin, George, Danny and the entire team and their subs.
