"Chase from Blacksmith responded quickly to our quote request and he met with us to determine our fencing needs. We had just installed new retaining walls. His quote was online with other bidders. Chase was very knowledgeable and he made recommendations which we adopted. They were about 5 weeks out based on their scheduling which was fine with us. Chase k kept us informed on the starting date and throughout the project. Crew was hard working and courteous and cleaned up property when finished. I would definitely use them again!!"

"Derek did an outstanding job replacing our fence. A car crashed into our fence and knocked down two sides of the fence and a tree. It was a big mess. I contacted four contactors on Angie’s list with the best reviews. Derek was the only contractor who responded right away, evaluated property damage and gave me an estimate the next day. I had to call other contractors several times and wait for ten days before I got any quotes. Derek offered the most competitive price and very thorough estimate. He noticed things like a broken foundation on a brick pillar and unstable poles that other contractors missed. He replaced the fence and hauled away the tree. I was very pleased with Derek’s work. He and his son worked from early morning till late night to finish the job. Very honest and diligent contractor. I will definitely hire him if I need more fencing work in the future."

"I’ll start by saying that the fence crew did a fantastic job.  It looks great.  However, it was our experience that the process leading up to and after was unusually disorganized and unprofessional. Read the vendor’s responses to their reviewers, and you can be the judge on the level of communication and professionalism you’re going to get from North Dallas Fence. I also would like to respond to the extremely insulting misrepresentation of facts that the vendor posted accusing us of dodging payment. Fact 1: He did not arrive at the stated time, and my neighbor and I immediately discussed going with another vendor due to this. He made various excuses why he was late, and all we said was that we would’ve liked a heads up phone call instead of waiting with no end in sight.  Fact 2: My neighbor and I both agreed to get another quote due to the fact that he was not very responsive to our phone calls and he was very late at the initial meeting. His excuse this time was that we shouldn’t leave him messages because he didn’t know how to access his voicemail. Yep, we also scratched our heads. He then instructed us to text him with questions from that point forward. Professional?  You be the judge.  Fact 3:  I agree that I did seek HOA approval.  He has a problem with that? Contrary to what he conjured up, my neighbor and I both agreed to do so. In fact, they submitted their approval request a week before we did. Fact 4: Their crew did start the job promptly. However, neither my neighbor nor I paid the 50% down because he never stopped by, called, texted, invoiced, nor emailed us to request the 50% down. In fact, my wife even asked the crew about paying them, and they said that he would have to collect. Moreover, when I asked his secretary, she texted me later that it’s his practice to stop when the crew starts to collect the 50%, but he never did.  We would have written them a check on the spot. To insinuate on a public website that we were not trustworthy is another way of North Dallas Fence casting blame and insulting their customers. Professional? You be the judge.  Fact 5: Regarding the fix on the irrigation pipe, he did not communicate this to me until mid-January (2 months after the job was completed). If I’d have seen him, I would have thanked him for sure, however I did not hear from him personally via call, text, email, nor in person from Nov 14 until mid-January when he called me to clarify the inconsistencies in the invoice. Fact 6: See Fact 5.  Also, I didn’t realize that the gate ornament outside of the work order scope for me to thank him. Thank you for the free gate ornament.  Fact 7:  Their crew completed it on time and it looks great.  He claims that it was free of mistakes, but how? He never called, texted, or stopped by to ask for my feedback on the fence. The first time he heard my feedback was on Angie’s List. There actually were a few minor mistakes that I fixed myself with a hammer, no big deal. Fact 8: After I looked at the stain on a few previous jobs they did, he offered to bring color samples, which is what I was waiting on (it’s all in the texts). To this day, I’ve never seen those samples. Also, my neighbor changed colors last minute, which I was completely fine with (it’s all recorded in the texts). Again, very confused how he conjured this up. Fact 9: My neighbor and I had not received an invoice or communication for payment for weeks after the job was done (not via phone, text, email, or stopping by). We openly talked about it together. His secretary finally sent me the first invoice on Jan 7 AFTER I texted a reminder to her to send me the invoice (it’s all recorded in the texts). She emailed it to me promptly, however since she didn’t respond to my text, I neglected to check my personal email account which I check maybe twice a month unless I know someone is sending me something. That’s my fault. After that period, we were just going back and forth on some invoice/work order discrepancies which were delays on both of our parts.  However, to insinuate we were dodging payment for services on a public website is a huge insult and is inexcusable. Fact 10: Again, how was it that my neighbor and me were to pay them the 50% down when they did not stop by or invoice us to collect? How is this the customer’s fault again, when the first invoice received was almost 2 months after the job was completed?  I find it disgraceful that North Dallas Fence takes any negative feedback and dissects it down to point by point blame, ridicule, and insult toward its customers.  Fact 11:  How are they unprofessional, they ask?  I’ll let their own words and behavior speak for itself.  They falsely accused us of evading payment while also making gross misrepresentations of fact, and that is completely inexcusable."
