"These guys were wonderful. They came right away & had our problem fixed a very short time after arriving. They even cleared a clog that they werenâ t there to clear! Most importantly though, because of the COVID-19 virus, they came in in masks & gloves. Iâ m at high risk as an asthmatic so it was a huge concern for me but they both made sure I was comfortable with them coming into my home. They even asked if I wanted them to come in a back or side door to keep our contact to an absolute minimum & then they cleaned up anything they touched with a disinfectant. I will definitely be calling on them again if I have any more clogs during & after this health crisis."

"Very good service. Louie called me within the hour after I requested. My laundry drain was clogged and backing up in my kitchen sink. He was very honest and price is fair. He gave me a new customer discount. Normally its $350. He snaked the drain and it started to drain. He also did a very good job cleaning up after. This man earned all these good reviews. He came on the same day I called him."

"Alex and his team did a great job at unclogging my bathtub. For a long time water was not draining properly. While they were at it they also discovered a leaking pipe and fixed it as well. They are expert professionals who I truly recommend. I will keep their contact for the future."

"Great! John, the owner was super helpful and nice on the phone. Eased all our concerns. The crew, Phil and Tim, showed up right on time and were able to locate the service caps in the lawn in 10 minutes. They showed me clearly how full the tanks were and clearly explained the problem and the solution. The prices quoted were very fair and there were no surprises. It took around 90 minutes. The job was all done outdoors and when they left you would never know it was done. Very neat and professional. The odors, etc we had were gone and we noticed the drains all flowing more freely. Exactly as they said. So glad we had this done before it became a serious and ugly problem inside the house. We highly recommend Priority Cesspool Sewer and Drain. Thank you!"

FAQs for drain clog or blockage clearing projects in Farmingdale, NY

Snaking a simple clog near a tub, toilet, or sink often takes about five minutes. Deeper blockages along the main line can stretch the job to a few hours because the pro must feed extra cable and may need a camera to confirm the pipe is clear. Either way, specialized tools help pros work quickly and keep your drains running for the long haul.

Aggressive snaking can scratch pipes, push debris deeper, or even crack older lines. That risk is low with an experienced plumber who matches the cable size to the pipe and eases the snake through bends instead of forcing it. If you’re unsure of your technique—or your pipes are already fragile—calling a licensed pro is the safest, and often cheapest, move.

Start with simple barriers: mesh screens on every tub, shower, and sink keep hair, food bits, and jewelry out of the pipes. Skip harsh chemicals; a monthly flush with hot (not boiling) water clears light buildup without damaging plastic lines. Finally, practice smart disposal—no grease, wipes, or kitty litter down the drain—and schedule routine cleanings if you have older plumbing.

Roto‑Rooter typically charges a flat $160 to $450 for standard snaking, which may include a quick sewer inspection and basic clean‑out. Exact pricing depends on the clog’s location and complexity. Repairs or part replacements fall outside that flat fee, so ask for a line‑item estimate if your tech spots broken pipe sections or recommends additional work.

Most liquid cleaners rely on caustic chemicals that eat through hair and grime—but they also erode metal and even some plastics over time. Repeated use strips protective pipe coatings and can leave you with leaks or premature failures. If hot water or a plunger doesn’t help, call a plumber for mechanical removal instead of pouring more chemicals down the line.
