"I thought that Scott and his team did a great job for me. I had a broken sewer line that was cut by the gas company when my house was first built. It took years for the line to become clogged by roots. They pushed through the clog with a lot of time and effort and verified the rest of the sewer line was fine with the camera. They arrived on time and updated me on the progress with pictures. Scott either answered his phone when I called or quickly responded to my voice mail within a few hours. I will use them again for interior plumbing work."

"They were great. No hesitation in using them again or recommending them to anyone. Late Thursday night our guest bathroom toilet would not flush and of course we were expecting my husbands parents and grandparents in less than 24 hours for a weekend visit.....Early on Friday morning I called and the woman who took my call my was very professional and sympathetic. She got me in for an appointment between 2-5 and promised to move me up if any openings occurred for earlier. An hour or two later our only other bathroom starting to back up and our kitchen sink stopped draining. I called back in a complete panic as my guests were only a couple of hours away. They got someone to our house within 45 minutes and the guy, Ben, was amazing. He had the blockage removed and we were back in business in less than an hour. plus he gave us a tip on how to get rid of the scratch marks in our toilet that we created while trying to snake it ourselves when we thought it was just the toilet. The tip worked and the toilet looks brand new. He, also, gave us (new first time home owners) some great plumbing tips if we ever have another back up....you can take off the top of the outside drain access and the water will go into the yard instead of your house! Who knew?? Thanks Benjamin Franklin! I highly recommend them!"

FAQs for drain clog or blockage clearing projects in Farmington, GA

Snaking a simple clog near a tub, toilet, or sink often takes about five minutes. Deeper blockages along the main line can stretch the job to a few hours because the pro must feed extra cable and may need a camera to confirm the pipe is clear. Either way, specialized tools help pros work quickly and keep your drains running for the long haul.

Aggressive snaking can scratch pipes, push debris deeper, or even crack older lines. That risk is low with an experienced plumber who matches the cable size to the pipe and eases the snake through bends instead of forcing it. If you’re unsure of your technique—or your pipes are already fragile—calling a licensed pro is the safest, and often cheapest, move.

Start with simple barriers: mesh screens on every tub, shower, and sink keep hair, food bits, and jewelry out of the pipes. Skip harsh chemicals; a monthly flush with hot (not boiling) water clears light buildup without damaging plastic lines. Finally, practice smart disposal—no grease, wipes, or kitty litter down the drain—and schedule routine cleanings if you have older plumbing.

Roto‑Rooter typically charges a flat $160 to $450 for standard snaking, which may include a quick sewer inspection and basic clean‑out. Exact pricing depends on the clog’s location and complexity. Repairs or part replacements fall outside that flat fee, so ask for a line‑item estimate if your tech spots broken pipe sections or recommends additional work.

Most liquid cleaners rely on caustic chemicals that eat through hair and grime—but they also erode metal and even some plastics over time. Repeated use strips protective pipe coatings and can leave you with leaks or premature failures. If hot water or a plunger doesn’t help, call a plumber for mechanical removal instead of pouring more chemicals down the line.
