"I chose Lake Michigan Construction for a full tear off and replacement of my residential roof. I’m very happy with decision to hire them as the contractor. LMC is a Holland based, family owned, business run by Kari and Al Noyola. Both of them are actively involved in the process from quote through installation. When doing advance research, I found that their online reviews and Better Business Bureau ratings are excellent. During the initial phase Kari and Al provided a detailed quote for scope of work including labor and a completely specified materials list. They took all the time I needed to understand the various roofing materials and products and how they integrate to provide a long lasting water proof roofing system. For material estimating measurements they use a software package called “EagleView” which was very accurate when I compared it to my original blueprint dimensions. It gave me confidence to know that the amount of material specified was accurately computed and would be on the job site when needed. Their quote and statement of work was clear, detailed, and transparent. The time they spent with me during the quoting phase left me confident they would be a reliable contractor and use quality materials for my project. The installation crew arrived on time every day and worked consistently all day to complete their tasks. My project used GAF roofing products and all the workmanship and installation techniques used by the crew were diligently performed to look visually appealing and to meet the installation specifications necessary to assure the manufacturer’s extended warranty was valid. My home’s siding, windows, and foundation plantings were carefully covered to prevent any damage. At the end of each day the crew removed all tear off debris and materials before leaving the site. Each night any unfinished roof work was covered and sealed to protect the house in the event of unexpected rain. The owner, Al Noyola, was actively on site several times throughout each work day to assure everything was running well and the crew had everything they needed. At the end of the project the crew left everything neat, clean, and looking great. My home also needed some flashing repair/replacement and that work was done in a neat attractive manner adding to the visual appeal of the finished project. The roofing industry has a reputation of unreliable contractors so I was extremely concerned when looking for a reliable supplier. I’m really happy I found and selected LMC for my project and very satisfied with the entire process of working with LMC. "The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."
