"This is the second time we’ve hired GA Chott during the past 15 years. We hired Darryll and Angie and team to build out a bathroom from scratch (no plumbing) in our upstairs attic space, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. The quality of the work is unsurpassed. We had an inspector ask us about who did the work so that he could contact them for a job in his own home. The quality and attention to detail were incredible. James is purely a rockstar – he works quietly (considering it included demo and the like), cleanly and respectfully. He kept us in the know along the way and really brought the details together. He was always available when we had questions and did quality work from top to bottom. Most of all, James really treated our home as though it was his own. The coordination of the project (which included several required inspections) was all handled by Angie and team. She is a great communicator, and that can’t be overlooked in a project of this scale. Again, she was always available for any questions we may have, and made it feel like we were their only clients. Darryll helped us navigate decisions and brought the full plan together. When we encountered a couple of small issues, he was quick to address and correct them, and assured that things were properly handled. This was a large, 8-week project. We did our homework and acquired several bids. GA Chott wasn’t the cheapest (or the most expensive), but they were clearly the best choice. We give our highest recommendation. You’ll be pleased with both the quality of the work and how it’s handled throughout the process."

"It was a custom job, a big shower, but the sales guys reassured me that I would get a finished product and all I would have to do was paint the ceiling. He said it would be about 3 days, but the job took 7 days and ran into my son's 7th birthday party. The first mistake we noticed was that the walls were not level and the grout lines were off. We called the installer and they rushed back and pulled the wall down. The seal between the two walls never fit quite the same after that. Then we noticed on the back wall behind the bench that it was bolted to the green board and not wooden framework, and the greenboard had already begun cracking from sitting on it a few times just to test it. So they came back and hammered a 2x6 in there and acted like it was no big deal. The concrete poured under the base of the tub didn't meet the outside edge or the corners and instead shims were left in place that came loose, causing the tub to dip and the caulk to crack. So I hammered in my own shim and poured the concrete myself, repairing the caulk afterward. Water is still pooling in the far right corner of the pan but there's nothing I can do about that. The hole cut in the ceiling for the can light was off center so I had to widen it to get the light in there. Because of this, it was too wide to make a proper seal and I had to caulk around the outside edge of the light. Neither of the shower heads had a washer in them and both were leaking. The hot and cold are backwards. The ceiling was not caulked, nor the trim along the windows, not the trim around the outside edge of the shower where it meets the drywall. This was done after I spent a couple days building the drywall up on both sides, four layers of mudd and sanding to properly level and prepare it. In all I probably spent five or six days on the shower installation that I was told would be done in three days, and all I would have to do was paint the ceiling. Instead I'm pouring concrete, caulking, mudding, painting and texturing, cutting baseboards and I'm slow at it because I'm a nurse and not a carpenter. That's why I wanted to hire professionals. And I told them they owed me some money back, a figure that was around 40% and the manager told me he would call me on Monday and that was over two Mondays ago. The project took a long time to get started, it took a long time to get finished, it was not done right, it was not done professionally, and it was not the finished product I was promised."

They truly listened to every question, concern, and vision I had for our project. They were polite and conscientious throughout, the subcontractors they hired for the project above par. We never felt uneasy with anyone that entered our home. The end result is absolutely gorgeous and exceeded my own expectations! "We attempted to have our unfinished basement finished in 2020. The project started in June of 2020 and was terminated unfinished in January of 2021. Total cost of the partial project was $75,771. Several issues led to the termination of the project. The primary was lack of actual project management and ability to take responsibility for errors by the contractor, which, in addition to being frustrating, contributed to the unnecessarily long project time of 7 months while still not being finished. Examples include: - An I-Beam for a heavy-bag track was to be installed on the ceiling. It was installed in the incorrect location and extremely poorly, to the point where flanges were overlapping. When confronted, the contractor stated that it just "wasn't finished". However, the correction required the complete removal and re-installation. Then the contractor claimed the issue was due to insufficient instruction supplied, even though all required information was in fact supplied. The installation crew was simply not competent and failed to install as instructed. - Wood panels were put on a large portion of the ceiling. Several conversations in writing instructed that there was to be no more work done after the initial paint as we liked the look as is. When painters were on-site for the walls, it was confirmed with them verbally that the ceiling was complete and not to perform work on them. However, they caulked and painted it anyway. When confronted, the contractor stated it was always known that this work was to be done. He also said it was only painted and not caulked, which was clearly not the case. Additionally, when shown texts and emails where we explicitly requested no more work done to the ceiling and that he also stated it was complete, he simply ignored it. - When ordering a vanity, he sent us to a shop to select one. However, when it came time to need the vanity, we found it had never actually been ordered. The contractor blamed us for not ordering it while at the shop, however the person at the shop later confirmed the hold up was the contractor not confirming the order. These are some of the biggest examples, but there were communication issues throughout the project. The termination of the contact didn't go any better than the rest of the project. We were told up front, in writing, that we would be billed for all services each week for the prior week. However, when we were settling up after the contract was terminated, there were many costs he was back charging for, meaning they were not billed during the week of work as the original contract stated. One of the items had no reciept. One of the bigger issues here was the painting. The painting cost was much too high relative to the original bid price based on actual work performed. When asked for an itemized bill for painting, it included painting work that had not been performed. The contractor ultimately removed the item for which he didn't have a receipt and reduced the paint cost by some amount. It was still not correct, but we agreed to pay to end the situation."

"Finding someone trustworthy that does a great job with great customer service is hard to do. When the project is expensive it makes it more nerve wracking to decide who to go with. If you are lucky enough to find someone that checks those boxes, they become your go to people for your projects and as well as who you recommend. A few years ago I had Hoffman replace my driveway and was completely happy with their service from initial contact to completion. Years later I’m still completely satisfied with my decision to use them. Recently I decided to pour a shed pad and replace an old back patio. There wasn’t a doubt in my mind on who I should call. Like last time the entire experience was top notch. Jessica is amazing to work with from the start and is very friendly and communicative. The owner Mark really cares about the quality of work and clearly appreciates your business. His son, who runs the concrete crew, is also awesome to work with and really cares about a customer-first approach and performing quality jobs. The rest of the crew is also very engaging and respectful and performs high quality work. If you or someone you know is looking for concrete work I cannot recommend them enough. I have a high expectation for work done at my house and they exceed those expectations. You cannot go wrong giving them a call and having them perform the work. They will continue to be my go-to company for all things related to concrete."
