"It went very well. We received timely emails giving us information, arrival times, and a picture of the installer which is a big safety factor. Lucas did a fine job of installation and was very helpful. He certainly knows his craft. The new blinds look great. Our sales rep, Denise, did a thorough job when she brought several samples for us to consider. She was prompt, professional, and friendly. This is the second time we have bought window treatments from her - hence, happy repeat clients. I am happy to recommend this company, Denise and Lucas."

"Very smoothly; Mr. Friel answered my first call and we made an appointment at his home (his entire basement is a carpet showroom). He is very knowledgeable and helped me pick out a carpet that met my needs (showed me where he had it installed in his own home) and I took home 3 carpet sample boards; chose 6 colors and he had larger samples mailed to me. I paid half down and the remainder upon completion. Three guys came for installation; they were polite and hard working, moved all my heavy furniture w/o incident, gave me tips on cleaning, upkeep, etc. Carpet looks great (no visible seams). A Coke spilled on it and it sat in a pool on top of the carpet; quickly cleaned and no carpet stain. Am planning to have more carpet installed throughout the remainder of my house by Mr. Friel. Would recommend."

"The quality of the roof was good, the installation went well. The billing practice is where I have an issue. We had a quote, we needed extra materials when they were installing. I expected my bill to reflect the additional materials but then my bill went up again I was told because my insurance was going to provide additional payment to us. That never happened then we I was asking for help with clarification my bill was reduced by a few hundred dollars. But I now have 5 different invoices. Very confusing billing."

"The first problem was that the materials had not arrived by the date scheduled, so we had to delay nearly a week, despite my having pre-planned and pre-scheduled to avoid this by planning well in advance. (This was not a job that was rushed with installation following quickly right after purchase. It was a couple months after purchase.)   Once the work was started, the crew that did the tile and laminate did a very nice job. The carpet crew seemed to really rush to get it all done in a day; I had to have several areas fixed afterwards that were poorly done. The biggest gripe I have is that there was no communication between the various crews, so there was no one but me to keep calling and nagging the central office; this was necessary because they did not have the right materials for the transition areas where tile met carpet, or laminate met carpet, etc.  No one seemed to be responsible for that.  If I had not kept dogging the office, these areas would not ever have been finished.  Likewise, the sales person didn't tell the kitchen tile installer that they were to re-use old quarter round trim (I don't know why...) so they tore it out, and then it required another visit to fix it. I had to call repeatedly to try to find out when someone could take care of these areas. It was maddening.  All in all, the tile and laminate came out looking great and that team did a very nice job.  The carpet is OK, but the overall process as a whole was chaotic. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Fontana, KS

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
