Customers say: Quick response

"Everything went great. I called on a Monday and was scheduled for Wednesday. I received a call on Tuesday morning and there was a cancellation, so they were able to fit me on that afternoon. Oliver arrived right at the appointed time. He was extremely friendly and explained everything thoroughly. The installation went smoothly and Oliver cleaned up after completing the job."

"I had a very good experience with Power Plumbing. I will use them again in the future and recommend them to others. The plumber, Tim, was prompt, safety-conscious, courteous, and quickly resolved the issue. He added some pipe thread tape and re-tightened the pipe. Also, fixed a potential issue with the plumbing of my dishwasher, as he identified the problem that I did not realize I even had. However, his explanation made perfect sense, and I was glad he said something about it. Also, he showed me how to bleed the external hose bib for future winters. A little pricey, but great service. <br />"

"Late in the day, I noticed the lowest toilet in the house was gurgling whenever anyone was using water. It was nearly 6 PM so most the plumbers were closed or not picking up the phone. But not John. He picked up, asked me some smart questions, had me check the cleanout pipe and expertly diagnosed the problem over the phone. The drain pipe from the house to the septic tank had become clogged. Even though it was now after 6, he offered to come right over. He used one of those motorized drain snakes through the cleanout pipe, got it unplugged and everything immediately started working normally again. John saved the day!"

"I hired the company a few years ago to install a hot water heater. Recently, I hired them to replace the plumbing in my house (some of it was over 100 years old!). The work was good quality, the plumber was professional, and there were no problems with the final inspection. I would highly recommend them."

"We had described the problem over the phone to Standard Plumbing, so they were able to diagnose what was wrong. Tim showed up right on time with the required replacement part and was able to fix the problems quickly. Standard has been our plumber for over 35 years. They are very professional, knowledgeable, courteous and reasonably priced. We would never dream of calling anyone else, and we highly recommend them for any and all of your plumbing needs"

"Minor leak under toilet to sewer pipe, pipe was old and had a split. Derek replaced the pipe and checked for any leaks, there were none. We really liked this guy and his assistant. They were early, very curteous and easy to work with. We would highly recommend them and would not hesitate to use them again for any plumbing issues. Wish we could give them A+'s. Thanks guys, great job! <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Forest Grove, OR

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
