"We are very pleased. We interviewed a number of security companies and received proposals including DIY to the big national and regional companies. I was not satisfied with any of the companies until I learned of 1stSecurity. Their pricing was good, both for the monthly fee ($40) and for the cost of the equipment. The manager, Jeremy, was very open and straightforward. The installer was also excellent. We asked them to install system prior to a trip we were taking in a few days and they met this short timeframe. The installation took 1-2 hours. The equipment we purchased was fairly extensive as we have a fairly large house and we wanted comprehensive coverage. This included 2 glass break sensors, a motion detector, and numerous door and window switches as well as a fire detection monitor. I accidentally set off the alarm and received a call from the monitoring company in under 10 seconds. The control panel for the system is an easy to use touch screen device, similar to an iPad. The system is very capable so you can connect smart devices to it if so inclined. We have been very pleased with the product and service so far (about 2 months)."

"Workers arrived on time as scheduled. We had a little snafu with the building rules; my building requires that the hallway from the elevator to the apartment door be covered with masonite.  They were not prepared for this, and providing this service cost an additional $275.  So if anyone else is doing this in manhattan, I recommend you check with your building codes and make sure everything is worked out ahead of time so that there are no surprise extra costs.
The guys were very courteous and efficient.  The floors look beautiful, and there is minimal dust.  Overall, I am quite happy.  I would recommend them.

"After moving several thousand miles from Europe, the four inexpensive but irreplaceable doors for the modular closet that I depend on for storing everything from papers to plates ended up scratched, grated and dinged by a (supposedly professional) four-block move in Manhattan. Michael visited multiple times over a period of weeks, mostly when I was out of the house, in order to restore the doors to nearly-new condition. This involved sanding, filling and color matching in multiple, painstaking stages. He proved totally trustworthy, and was a total perfectionist, paying as much attention to my mass-produced furniture as he would have paid to any antique. Despite the fact that the work ended up being more complicated than he had originally thought, he honored his original estimate."

"Overall it went well as Rick does very nice work. However, he could improve his communications to his customers as I often had to reach out to him to get the disposition of the work. Frankly the job took much longer than it should have because he assumed that the replacement bi-fold doors that we selected were in stock. Turns out that when he went to get them, after enlarging the closet and completing most of the work, that they weren't. Then the doors weren't delivered from the distributor when promised and he had to go through another vendor who encountered the same problem. After several weeks of failed deliveries we elected to go with doors that were in stock so we could complete the job. While the quality of his work was very good, the delays were frustrating and could have been eliminated or reduced had he ordered the door when we selected it before the work began. Fortunately my work schedule had some flexibility because I wasted 2 days when no work was performed because the promised delivery didn't take place. All of this was frustrating as we had scheduled painters and new furniture to be delivered after the closet was to be completed, so our best laid plans had to be reshuffled."
