"Had a great experience with the folks at Wyatt Works Plumbing while I was having an issue with a clogged drain. They had someone out to the house in no time. The tech showed up and he was very professional and great at explaining the issue and walking me through their diagnosis. They were able to resolve my issue after a quick visit. It's hard to know who to trust and make sure you're getting the best price. After hiring a few plumbers over the years I'll always go back to Wyatt Works. Their level of customer service is unmatched"

"Called Amen Plumbing and they got us right in on the next days schedule. It was a bit expensive but the young man worked quickly and efficiently and used quality replacement piping, showerhead, and all new tub fixtures. His work and the products all came with a warranty. He did not stop until the job was done. I would highly recommend them."

"Jacob and Tim are amazing. I am writing to share our experience for the job they did with the gas line piping installation and water connection at our home. Tim took extra time to explain the scope of work and provided a clear understandable estimate. ( labor, materials, permits, warranty, payment terms and lastly affordable compared to others). NO upsell of services or get you to join their club. Their quality of work was exceptional, and we were impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail throughout the entire process. It is a relief to have such an important project completed safely and efficiently. We truly appreciate their expertise and will certainly use them again and recommend their services to anyone in need of a skilled plumber."

"Professional with the right tool and know-how shamed this DIY'er yet again. Chris was great and fast; in and out in about 15 minutes; half of that showing me that the drain was fixed."

"Came by and fixed quickly. Outside job and not-so-great weather. Repair was efficient and cost was what expected. Actually fixed some more minor problems I was having as well. Would recommend to anyone in Rock Hill Area."

FAQs for drain clog or blockage clearing projects in Fort Mill, SC

Snaking a simple clog near a tub, toilet, or sink often takes about five minutes. Deeper blockages along the main line can stretch the job to a few hours because the pro must feed extra cable and may need a camera to confirm the pipe is clear. Either way, specialized tools help pros work quickly and keep your drains running for the long haul.

Aggressive snaking can scratch pipes, push debris deeper, or even crack older lines. That risk is low with an experienced plumber who matches the cable size to the pipe and eases the snake through bends instead of forcing it. If you’re unsure of your technique—or your pipes are already fragile—calling a licensed pro is the safest, and often cheapest, move.

Start with simple barriers: mesh screens on every tub, shower, and sink keep hair, food bits, and jewelry out of the pipes. Skip harsh chemicals; a monthly flush with hot (not boiling) water clears light buildup without damaging plastic lines. Finally, practice smart disposal—no grease, wipes, or kitty litter down the drain—and schedule routine cleanings if you have older plumbing.

Roto‑Rooter typically charges a flat $160 to $450 for standard snaking, which may include a quick sewer inspection and basic clean‑out. Exact pricing depends on the clog’s location and complexity. Repairs or part replacements fall outside that flat fee, so ask for a line‑item estimate if your tech spots broken pipe sections or recommends additional work.

Most liquid cleaners rely on caustic chemicals that eat through hair and grime—but they also erode metal and even some plastics over time. Repeated use strips protective pipe coatings and can leave you with leaks or premature failures. If hot water or a plunger doesn’t help, call a plumber for mechanical removal instead of pouring more chemicals down the line.
