They worked together like a well tuned machine. Everyone knew what they had to do and when to do it. There were no mistakes. They were here by 8:00 am and were finished by 4:30. They answered all my questioned and responded to my phone calls. They were polite and respectful. They cleaned up after themselves and left nothing damaged. More companies should operate like them. Instead, I was met with a shocking display of greed and predatory pricing that the public absolutely deserves to know about. The technician diagnosed the issue as a faulty circuit board. When I asked for the repair cost, I was told it would be $1,100 for the part alone, plus additional labor charges. My eyes nearly popped out of my head. Something felt off, so I did my own research while the tech was still here, and I discovered the exact same part retails for approximately $170. That's not a markup, that's exploitation. I confronted the technician about the outrageous price and immediately declined the service. I fully understand companies need to make profit, and I respect the value of skilled labor. "They installed a minisplit cooling system, with 3 exchanges June 2021. Since then it is not operating the way it should. In my bedroom with the door closed at night on cool at 70 degrees the humidity goes up to 80%. I wake up uncomfortable, change it from cool to dry mode. The humidity will go down into the 50% range but the temperature drops down to 62 or less! So in cool or dry mode I can't get a good nights sleep! They come and look at it and tell me everything is fine. I'm going to buy a window air conditioner tomorrow which seems insane because i spent $10,000 on this minisplit AC system!"
