"I had 3 outlets that didn't work and needed an outside outlet installed for landscaping lights. Caleb was prompt and efficient. I normally don't go with the lowest bid, but Caleb's knowledge was evident so I gave it a go. I am so very glad I did! The job was performed with great care and done right. I will call The Plug Electrical for any future electrical needs I have."

"I thought a breaker needed to be replaced , but it was really a loose wire in an outlet. I appreciated the information provided about various items that needed to be upgraded to meet code, which I will be able to address over the coming year or two before we sell our home."

"Raul and Hector were awesome. Not only were they fast and efficient they were also very honest, nice, and professional. I would highly recommend them for any of your electrical needs. They did a panel upgrade for me along with adding outlets in my garage. Also they hooked up a hot tub connection with shut off. They are really great guys and I would definitely trust them with my house keys when me or my wife are not home. You can't go wrong hiring these guys to do the work you need. I wish more people and companies were like Raul and Hector. Lat/Long electrical is the way to go!!"

"Takes the time to explain complicated procedures and how loog the power will be off. Took photos to show the improvements. Electrical box , grounding of home/water roof and wire to poll. The city and Evergy also were part of the process. All was well coordinated."

"Landis did an awesome job on a complicated project we had replacing knob and tube wiring in our house. Their team was clearly knowledgeable about the project, provided great advice, did it in a timely fashion with minimal damage done to our walls. They also were very reasonable priced compared to other bids we received. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing electrical work done."

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Freeman, MO

Yes, a licensed electrician is essential for this project. Running an electrical service from the road to your house involves connecting to utility power lines, complying with national and local electrical codes, and safely handling high-voltage systems.

Licensed professionals understand proper wire sizing, grounding requirements, and voltage drop calculations needed for safe installation. Most jurisdictions require permits and inspections that only certified professionals can obtain. The safety risks and potential for property damage make this project inappropriate for DIY attempts.

Overhead installations are less expensive than underground options. For a 1000-foot run, overhead service costs between $8,000 and $15,000, while underground service ranges from $10,000 to $25,000.

Overhead lines require less labor and fewer materials since they don't need trenching or conduit. However, underground lines offer better protection from weather events and aesthetic benefits. Your decision should balance your budget constraints with long-term reliability and visual preferences.

You might need to upgrade your electrical panel depending on your power requirements. If your existing panel cannot handle the additional load from the extended service, upgrading to a 200-amp service (costing $750 to $2,000) may be necessary.

A licensed electrician can evaluate your current system and determine if an upgrade is required. Factors include what you'll be powering at the end of the line, existing electrical demand, and whether voltage drop over the distance will affect performance.

Running electric service from the road to a house requires electrical permits from your local building department, costing between $500 and $2,000 depending on your location. You may also need excavation permits for trenching work if installing an underground service. Your utility company will have its own application process for connecting to its grid. A licensed electrical contractor can handle all the necessary permit applications as part of their service, ensuring your installation meets all local code requirements.
