"I had an electrical outlet installed on my brick fireplace so I could hang my TV up. I was quoted from another company $600 and would have the outlet box exposed from the brick. I used Enoch and it done for $150. Plug looks great! I'll use Enoch anytime I need electric work done."

"I like this company a lot. They were very responsive about coming and quoting my service, and once agreed and scheduled they showed up promptly. All of the work was done quickly and very well, including cleaning up after themselves. I asked for some specific routing of the wires which they accommodated perfectly. Also, I got a nice bonus when I left them a note asking about how to disconnect an old electrical outlet, they just went ahead and did it for me. Thanks guys!!"

"I thought I had a big problem because the switches all went out at the same time. I kept having a breaker flip whenever I used a certain outlet for the iron or vacuum cleaner. The breaker box was put in by someone else...not Mustang Electric, but they would never call me back about the issue that kept happening. This is why I used Mustang because of the great reviews on Angie's list. Alan Thomas was punctual, professional and patient. He waited when the Air Condition people showed up a little earlier than expected to put in my new thermostat. They were in the area where he had to check an outlet.

He is also very honest. I was writing the check for $225.00. That's what I thought he said. But then he corrected me, "Oh no ma'am it is $125.00."  He will be my electrician from now on. I hope I don't need any electric work any time soon though! Thank you Mustang Electric. I'm so happy to have all my outlets working now.

"I had a great experience with Rodney from Acetroves. I needed a Ring Security System installed, along with a wired Ring doorbell and two outdoor cameras which required 120V power. He did a fantastic job. He responded to the request almost immediately and started on the work the very next day. He arrived on time, took off his shoes to keep my home clean, and completed the work efficiently. He stayed to make sure all the devices were connecting properly to the Ring app. He was very professional and explained the process clearly. I am happy with my security system. I highly recommend him, and he has already completed a second project for me, troubleshooting an electrical issue."

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Freeport, TX

Yes, a licensed electrician is essential for this project. Running an electrical service from the road to your house involves connecting to utility power lines, complying with national and local electrical codes, and safely handling high-voltage systems.

Licensed professionals understand proper wire sizing, grounding requirements, and voltage drop calculations needed for safe installation. Most jurisdictions require permits and inspections that only certified professionals can obtain. The safety risks and potential for property damage make this project inappropriate for DIY attempts.

Overhead installations are less expensive than underground options. For a 1000-foot run, overhead service costs between $8,000 and $15,000, while underground service ranges from $10,000 to $25,000.

Overhead lines require less labor and fewer materials since they don't need trenching or conduit. However, underground lines offer better protection from weather events and aesthetic benefits. Your decision should balance your budget constraints with long-term reliability and visual preferences.

You might need to upgrade your electrical panel depending on your power requirements. If your existing panel cannot handle the additional load from the extended service, upgrading to a 200-amp service (costing $750 to $2,000) may be necessary.

A licensed electrician can evaluate your current system and determine if an upgrade is required. Factors include what you'll be powering at the end of the line, existing electrical demand, and whether voltage drop over the distance will affect performance.

Running electric service from the road to a house requires electrical permits from your local building department, costing between $500 and $2,000 depending on your location. You may also need excavation permits for trenching work if installing an underground service. Your utility company will have its own application process for connecting to its grid. A licensed electrical contractor can handle all the necessary permit applications as part of their service, ensuring your installation meets all local code requirements.
