I had recently moved to a new home with two dogs who desperately needed their freedom from a leash. Joey met with me, had materials ordered and my fence installed in about a week. Joey stayed in touch every step of the way (and has a great sense of humor!) His team showed up a few minutes before 8am and was ready to head out by 3pm. They were professional, hardworking and adjusted things I asked to be tweaked with no problem. Joey definitely got a video of my boys running in their backyard for the first time as a thank you!"

"We hired Premier Floors to install new carpet for the entire second floor.  We have 4 bedrooms and 2 staircases.  Prior to making our decision, we requested several quotes from 4 different companies.  We eventually selected Premier Floor because their pricing was very competitive and the owner, Tom was very responsive and helpful in educating us about the carpet.  I like the fact that Tom gives us exactly what we need based on our budget.  He didn't try to convince us going for more expensive carpet or any additional services.  Also, it's always our objectives to do business with local companies.
On the installation day, the workers arrived on time and did a very good job installing the carpet.  They are courteous and professional.  After the installation, they removed all the trash and vacuumed the new carpet.  I will definitely use them again and will recommend them to my friends.

"He contacted me quickly, was able to help me put a fence plan together that fit my budget, and was able to install it less than 2 weeks after we met! Plus, the team that installed it worked quickly and didn't leave a huge mess behind to deal with. Only complaint is that they are super busy and I was under the gun to get the fence done quickly. In hindsight, we didn't really work through what my fence would actually look like. Because they can't show you exactly what your wood fence would look like, just an approximation.... I do not have buyers remorse, but I do wish that I had more space between the slats and I wish that I'd gotten a version closer to the pictures. "I've been doing this job myself every 4-5 years, but it's a ton of work. This time I wanted to hire it out and switch products to something more durable than the oil stain I've been using. The house has been well-maintained, but was due. Marshall Painter is old school, and very experienced. He's been a log home builder for many years and knows his stuff. He came out very quickly to look at the job, gave me a quote on the spot and said he could start within a week or so. We talked about products, and he recommended one he'd been using for years with good results. A second company I called didn't bother to come out and look at the house, they simply had me send pictures, then quoted an obscenely high price - 3x what Marshall was asking. They were going to treat the house very aggressively, with a heavy power wash, followed by sanding the entire house. They even had a line item on the quote charging for travel time, and warned that if my well wasn't up to keeping their power washers busy I would have to pay for a water truck at $600 or more per day. To add insult to injury they warned me it could be as much as three weeks before they got time to quote the job, and 3-4 months before they could start work. In contrast, Marshall is a fan of being as gentle as possible when cleaning a log house. He's got products and processes that work for him and takes a cautious approach. I realized that some heavier stripping might be necessary on some of the less-weathered sides of the house, and it was. I introduced Marshall to a stripper that I had used before with great results, and we negotiated an increase in price for the extra effort to strip three sides of the house. I'm a handy guy, and having done it several times I know what it takes to do this job. I'm very picky, and tend to over-think things sometimes. On top of that I'm used to doing things myself, not hiring contractors. This all probably makes me a bit of a challenge for contractors. I ask a lot of questions, I agonize over decisions, and I want to understand the details. I make a decent living, but $8000 is a lot of money to me, and I wanted to spend it wisely. Marshall was patient with all my questions, and made a consistent effort to make sure I understood every step of the process, why they did it the way they did, and the range of possible outcomes. I wouldn't call Marshall old, but he's not a young man. He didn't do any of the work personally, though he has done it all in his younger days. He was on site every day, usually several times, to ensure his subs were paying attention to the details and make sure they had the materials they needed. He's not picking guys up off the corner either - he's worked with the same subs for many years, and they clearly work well together and respect each other. Marshall has high standards and his subs clearly do too - they obviously take pride in their work. They were very careful to mask off the large surfaces and even the little details like the doorbell and the outdoor faucets. The crew who applied the first coat of stain left quite a bit of trash and debris around the site when they left, which was disappointing. But when Marshall showed up the next morning, the first words out of his mouth were an apology. He said he was disappointed because they knew he expected better, and he would have a word with them. And before knocking on the door he'd already made a trip around the house picking up trash. He couldn't have handled it better. I'm very pleased with the end result, and the whole experience I will definitely hire GALH again. I have some interior painting that needs to be done, and they do that too. Not to mention decks and just about anything else you can imagine. Great American Log Homes doesn't have a fancy web site, a secretary, or a marketing department. What they do have is an owner who is detail-oriented, experienced, and truly cares about delivering a quality job and making his customers happy, and surrounds himself with like-minded people to ensure that it happens."

"My house was built on a hill with no thought into how the yard was going to be used. The severely sloped yard made it nearly impossible for the kids to play outside. I contacted Legendary Landscapes to help me figure out a solution. Chad, the owner, came over for the initial consultation. I expressed my needs and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. He proposed a solution for my yard and explained the steps necessary. I thought i was going to need an expensive retaining wall but Chad suggested a lower cost alternative for me using rip rap that i didn't even know was possible. The proposed price was exactly what i was looking for so the work was scheduled for the following week. Chad and his helper showed up on time and performed the work in 95 degree plus weather (kudos to them, too hot for me!). The work was done on time, 2 days as proposed despite the insane heat, with no surprises or issues. I wasn't sure how good the rip rap wall would look but i was pleasantly surprised with the final product. The work done looks great and my yard looks enormous now! I highly recommend this company, they are going on my speed dial as the first and only call for future landscaping projects.
