"I have a difficult driveway that has a hill with a steep grade. The old driveway was in very bad shape. The driveway Doctor and his outstanding crew, did an amazing job with leveling and re-paving. It both enhances the property esthetically and provides for a safe and manageable use of the driveway despite the steep grade. The crew were experts, professional and very personable. I also find it difficult to see how they could complete the work at such a great price. Their equipment is clean and professionally maintained as well. They were here when the said they would be and completed the work thoroughly and in a timely manner (careful to insure the job was done well). I would give the the Driveway Doctor my highest reference. You will be very pleased if you choose the Driveway Doctor for your driveway needs."

"Jones Brothers Paving does an excellent job. We do apartment management and they have done several projects for us. Reno is always ready to answer any questions and goes the extra mile to make sure the job is done right. The company comes when they say they will, does the job efficiently and is always professional. "

Small jobs welcome

"It was a challenge as my driveway was probably cut over 30 yrs ago and other than gravel every now and then, hadn't had much TLC. I chose H&H Paving. Chase Hardeman out of Rainsville. He spent time evaluating the drive, went over in detail how and why it would be done and gave me a competitive price. They had to do a lot of prep work on mine as we had to adjust the slope up top to redirect the rainfall off the mtn which made the job last longer. The actual paving was completed in one day. If you are considering driveway work I strongly recommend H&H Paving."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Gadsden, AL

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
