"This was a great experience from start to finish. They arrived on time got and got the work done with zero mess even though this involves drilling a large hole in the basement floor. The system did what it’s supposed to do and reduced radon levels to almost 0. I am very happy with this company and would highly recommended them. The price was great too."

"Eric contacted me shortly after searching Angie's List. I described what I needed, a radon mitigation system, and he provided a written estimate via email. Much lower than what I expected. Eric was able to come out in a few days and install the system. Installation time was about 3 hours. No additional charges. He returned to the house three days later to retrieve the radon monitor and showed me the current reading of 1.0 pC/l, well below the 11.0 pC/l from a prior test. A formal report was emailed the same day; the avg reading was 0.8 pC/l. I highly recommend hiring Radon Fix."

"<p>They showed up on time. They performed the work pretty quick. They seemed to do a good job. The electrician cleaned up after</p> <p>himself really well. The worker performing the inside work cleaned up really well. The outside guy didn't do a really bad job,</p> <p>But he did leave some cuttings from the pipe in the driveway. And some of the cut siding from the house laying on the ground</p> <p>where the installed was done. Other than that they did a good job.</p> <p><br /></p> <p><br /></p> <br />"

"Out Radon did an excellent job. They were helpful on the phone before I committed. They also quoted me a lower price than anyone else, did a professional install, and then stood by their price. I am quite pleased with the whole experience and recommend them highly."

"Our radon mitigation system has been in place for 13 years. The fan started getting louder a few weeks ago. I called Ohio Radon Mitigation and spoke with Jodi, who came out the next day to let me know that the fan would need to be replaced. She gave a price of $400 and said that the technician Doug could come out early the following week to replace it. Doug actually showed up earlier than his scheduled arrival to replace the fan and had the job done in about 1/2 hour. In these days of COVID, I am very impressed with the quick response that I got from Jodi to get our fan replaced. Their pricing for the repair was reasonably also."

FAQs for radon gas testing projects in Galena, OH

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. The gas seeps through cracks in foundations and collects in basements and other low areas. Once you breathe it in, radioactive particles lodge in lung tissue and do long-term damage. Because you can’t see or smell radon, the EPA recommends testing your home every two years—and after major renovations—to keep your family safe.

Yes—every home should be tested. The EPA advises doing it at least every two years and any time you remodel, buy, or sell. On average, one in 15 houses nationwide sits above the recommended limit, and the only way to know where yours stands is a formal test. The equipment simply measures gas levels and won’t change your indoor environment, so the process is completely harmless.

Certified radon professionals—often home inspectors or dedicated radon mitigation contractors—handle testing. These radon testing professionals follow EPA protocols and use calibrated instruments to check levels throughout your house. Hiring a certified radon specialist means results you can trust for real estate deals, insurance requirements, and, most importantly, your family’s health.

Inspectors specialize in measuring radon gas levels, while licensed mitigation contractors design and install the systems that remove it. If your test comes back high, your inspector can point you to a qualified mitigation pro who will size and install the right fan, piping, or other equipment to bring levels down.

No—standard home air purifiers don’t touch radon. They’re built to trap dust and pollen, not radioactive gas. If testing shows high levels, you’ll need a dedicated mitigation system that vents the gas from beneath your home to the outdoors. Relying on a room purifier alone won’t keep your indoor air safe.

Opening a few windows in your home might dilute radon for a short time, but the gas seeps back in as soon as they’re closed. For a lasting fix, you’ll need a professional mitigation system—often a sub-slab depressurization fan—that pulls radon from beneath the foundation and safely vents it outside.
