"The professionals at Carpet Outlet were absolutely wonderful! They were kind, punctual and efficient. We used them for two different jobs and both sets of installers did fantastic work! I LOVE the results!! They were able to match our new hardwoods to two other rooms that were already installed. Plus they went above and beyond. Due to our error we needed to have some new carpet that was installed in a bedroom closet redone because of a water issue and Mr. Mike was so wonderful to come back out and fix our little issue with no problem!!! What a wonderful group of people!!!! I’m so grateful for their help!!!"

"The workers were very friendly and knowledgeable. They could’ve put it back a day but they went above and beyond into the night to finish the job on the 3rd day. The sub contractor was also very responsive and vocal throughout the project to make sure we knew everything that was being done. They never left a hole or grout edge that wouldn’t get get covered by baseboard."

"They did an amazing job! The team moved our furniture out of the way, pulled up our old carpet, and installed the new hardwoods. Very professional job! They were also quite responsive to a plank that had a slight 'pop' due to an uneven foundation issue. A+++ rating!"

"The crew arrived within the given time frame. They were extremely nice and very professional. I knew beforehand that we would have to have a few seams, but Fernando consulted with me as soon as they arrived about the best way to lay the new carpet in order to minimize these and we ended up with fewer than we'd expected. The seams are completely invisible. The crew were very careful with all of our furniture and everything was done just exactly as we wanted it. We did have to have them come back out to install a transition strip in a doorway where we hadn't had one before. I called early on the Friday morning after our installation and the strip was in place by 10:30AM! The new carpet is absolutely beautiful and we couldn't be more pleased! And again, the crew was probably the nicest group of men we've yet had out to our home to do any kind of work for us, and we've had quite a bit done in the past two years. Very, very pleased with Don's Carpet One! <br />"

"Provider was quick and did a good job. He came out twice because HD did not order the handle that I had specified. He put on the handle that was sent and then came out again to put on the correct handle. Everything was great. This was from HD at the Galleria, not Hwy 280. For some unknown reason, this review shows up in the Window Treatments category and I can't change it. <br /> <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Garden City, AL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
